My intended user is my mum. She is a wife and mother of four.

My mum is very
hardworking pretty much every day and gets almost no rest. During the times that
she does go out to take a break and have some fun, she likes to show off her
jewellery, which she has A LOT of!
However, although she doesn’t complain, I have found
some issues with the product she uses to store all her
jewellery in. My mum has a make-up/jewellery bag
which, even in the best
condition, doesn’t provide storage in a
way that is organised. This means time is
wasted looking for specific jewellery.
On top of that, the jewellery bag is
quite old, so it is now worn out from all
the weight. The mirror on the top of the bag
is also cracked, so much that it cannot
be ignored. Another issue is that there
are multiple relatively small stains from leakages that are difficult to remove due to the absorbancy of
the material of the inner lining.
As you can see from the photos above, my mum has a few favourites that she wears often. For this
reason, I have decided that I will design the jewellery box with storing space that will make it easy for
her to organise the jewellery in a way that gives her easier access to her most favourite jewellery. I
will also add lights to a mirror Hollywood style. The box itself will be made of painted then glossed
wood so that it is waterproof and won’t stain like her previous bag.
