THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING STRATEGIES IN ONLINE AND FACE TO FACE

SET UP OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS OF NCST DURING THE FIRST SEMESTER
OF SCHOOL YEAR 2023-2024

Introduction

These days many schools are considering an option that has several names
concurrent, hybrid, Hy flex and most include teaching students who are in our physical
classroom at the same time, and they are teaching some who are online. Online-based learning
methods are one of the essential abilities for 21st-century learning since they need critical
thinking both inside and outside of the classroom. However, because to the pandemic, most
students employ a variety of abilities to learn or cope with technological obstacles. Furthermore,
the students faced technological hurdles due to a lack of devices, an internet connection, a
cellular signal, and financial help. Nonetheless, technology is one of the most important
instruments for instructors and students to boost educational development. The introduction of
information and communication technology to secondary school students paved the way for
technical awareness and tactics.

The current pandemic has compelled the educational industry to reluctantly modify its
tactics by pressuring it to accept technology as the educational process's savior. COVID-19 has
harmed this sector by prohibiting all face-to-face learning in educational institutions, leading to a
reliance only on online education and the adoption of practices tailored solely to distance
learning. (Khreisat,2022) Among these changes or difficulties, one of the significant issues is
learning a new language. Language differences can be barriers to communication, which may
affect self-confidence, community, and academic involvement. With this in mind, understanding
the needs and learning strategies of adult English language learners in university settings is
important to provide appropriate instruction and services. (Hong Shi,2018) Hybrid teaching
methods combine online and face-to-face instruction to produce in-tegrated experiences for
educators and students in the teaching and learning of English (Cesm 2011).

A few classroom sessions are balanced with hybrid instruction Online instructional
education benefits from face-to-face course experiences. Growth of information and technology
technical advancements have enabled educational system reforms like as hybrid education
approaches. Hybrid education techniques combine several teaching and learning strategies that
use materials and resources to successfully increase learner comprehension of various
disciplines such as English. Students can successfully interact with peers and learning
resources through hybrid education approaches, allowing for blended learning processes
(Chambers & Gregory, 2006).
