BAMBOO
Bamboo is a grass found easily on
AVAILABILITY almost all continents with special
ability to grow on wasteland as well.
The resources of bamboo are wide
and available globally with China
and India contributing to the
maximum world bamboo forest.

India is the second-biggest

producer of bamboo worldwide.

Bamboo is perceived as a
sustainable, quickly developing,
and crude economic material
BAMBOO AS A
SUSTAINABLE
MATERIAL
Its tensile strength is almost equal to steel

It is a sustainable material that requires very

less energy to nurture, restrains soil erosion,
supplies biofuel, extends wildlife refuge

The primary harvesting often takes 3 to

5 years, considerably quicker than wood
forests.

Bamboo is flexible and elastic. It bends rather

than breaks.

Bamboo can be paired with other materials

such as mud, vegetable materials

Bаmbоо іѕ 100% biodegradable.

Trusses /Roof Structure: Bamboo trusses
can be easily used for constructing roof
trusses using bamboo rafters and purlins.

Structures made of it are subjected to less

force during earthquakes and are less
likely to collapse
USES
Bamboo as a composite material can be
used for various interior and exterior
purposes in buildings like foundation,
flyovers, dwellings, multistory buildings,
large span structures, and interiors of
airports, recreational buildings
