answer.

IoT is a rapidly growing field with a profound impact on various industries, including healthcare, transportation, agriculture, and smart cities. It is transforming the way we live and work. By
focusing on IoT, this can contribute to addressing real-world challenges and advancing technology in a meaningful way.

2. What are the baseline features of the said IT solution based on the published articles on your Literature Survey?

 Aims to introduce a modern but farmer-friendly watering framework that saves water and is easy to use for the average farmer (Sah et al., 2021)

 Uses automatic watering system to monitor and maintain the appropriate soil moisture content. (Karthikamani & Rajaguru 2021)
 The system is combined with irrigation system in order to cope with the unpredictable weather. (Muhammad et al., 2020)
 Uses a renewable hybrid power system based smart irrigation system powered by an off-grid wind and solar energy. (Ghosh et al., 2023)
 System has a distributed wireless network of soil-moisture and temperature sensors placed in the root zone of the plants. (Gutiérrez et al., 2014)
 The proposed solar-driven mechanized irrigation system senses the air humidity, moisture content in the soil and irrigates the field as per the appropriate requirement of water to the
crop thereby decreasing the water wastage. (Mahalakshmi et al., 2018)

FIRST SEMESTER, AY 2023-2024

 Cost effective solar powered irrigation systems. (Edodi et al., 2022)

 A smart water-irrigation and security system that predicts the quality and fertility of the soil. (Sachan at al., 2021)
 Sophisticated irrigation system. (Meduri et al., 2020)
 A smart electric fence is created that energizes when an animal approaches it, and de-energizes when it moves away. (Lakshmi et al., 2023)
3. What were the tools (e.g hardware/software) used to develop the said IT solution based on your Literature Survey?

 This system uses an Arduino UNO as its microcontroller with a gsm 900 module to communicate with the farmer even on the 2g phone. (Sah et al., 2021)
 The control unit is implemented using the Rasbperri Pi microcontroller and remotely controlled through mobile phone. (Karthikamani & Rajaguru 2021)
 Raspberry Pi 4 Model B is used as the microcontroller of this system. DHT22 and soil moisture sensor is used to detect the temperature and humidity in surrounding and moisture level
of the soil respectively where the output will be displayed on smartphone and computer. (Muhammad et al., 2020)
 The hybrid power generation system is designed using solar energy (generated by a 360-degree dual-axis sun tracker) and wind power (generated by a Savonius vertical axis wind
turbine). (Ghosh et al., 2023)
 An algorithm was developed with threshold values of temperature and soil moisture that was programmed into a microcontroller-based gateway to control water quantity. The system
was powered by photovoltaic panels and had a duplex communication link based on a cellular-Internet interface that allowed for data inspection and irrigation scheduling to be
programmed through a web page. (Gutiérrez et al., 2014)
 The project uses a Simple Link WI-Fi module (CC3200) which connects the hardware system to internet and it monitors PV system, controls the motor and solenoid valve for pumping
water to the field on the statistics obtained from the water level sensor and soil moisture sensor. (Mahalakshmi et al., 2018)
 The system adopted solar power such that it could be deployed in places with inadequate or no grid power while providing a means of monitoring the available solar/battery power as
well as the water available in reservoir over the Internet on a Blynk user-friendly application. (Edodi et al., 2022)
 The system will consist of separate sections which can carry different fertilizers, which will be mixed with the water tanker is used for the irrigation supply. The requirement of different
fertilizer will be based on location (GPS) and user input via the internet. (Sachan at al., 2021)
 The humidity and temperature of the soil are precisely controlled with a remote monitoring system using an Arduino module by collecting data wirelessly to a central server that is
Orange Pi which collects the data, stores it and sends it to the user mobile. (Meduri et al., 2020)
 The demo module has two sets of IR sensors which are placed in separate locations all across the module. IR sensors are used to detect an approaching animal at the boundary.
These miniature pole-mounted sensors also include conducting wires that produce shocking pulses. (Lakshmi et al., 2023)
4. How is such IT solutions evaluated or validated in the articles in your Literature Survey?

 Detects the soil's drought or wet condition do the needful irrigation and sends a message to the farmer about the condition so that farmer can monitor the farm. (Sah et al., 2021)
 Monitor water the exact amount of water to irrigate and distinguish soil moisture in the field. (Karthikamani & Rajaguru 2021)
 Should bring a positive effect on the crop production. (Muhammad et al., 2020)
 Help the farmer by using this hybrid renewable energy-based smart irrigation system and reduce pressure on using commercially generated electricity in agriculture. ( Ghosh et al.,
2023)
 The automated system was tested in a sage crop field for 136 days and water savings of up to 90% compared with traditional irrigation practices of the agricultural zone were
achieved. (Gutiérrez et al., 2014)
 The proposed system results in reduction of the water scarcity problems, increases the effective utilization of the solar power and as an outcome enhance the crop yield. (Mahalakshmi
et al., 2018)
 Experiments carried out at 7 am to 8 am, 1 pm to 2 pm, 3 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 8 pm reveal the dependence of the irrigation system on optimal utilization of the two essential
parameters of water and power for a smooth operation of a smart irrigation system. (Edodi et al., 2022)
 The agricultural fields will be shielded with the transparent solar panels, which will allow the sunlight to pass into the fields and will also prevent excess rain which usually destroys the
crops. The excess rainwater will be stored into the underground tub, which can also be utilized for irrigation. (Sachan at al., 2021)
 Graphs that include Water utilization, profit mapping analysis, utilization of fertilizers have been plotted which prove the efficiency of our sophistication. (Meduri et al., 2020)
 The motor will start running if the earth is completely dried out. Likewise, if the ground is damp, the motor will be off. When the fence is activated, the buzzer is activated automatically
to notify inmates of their whereabouts. Once the fence is energized, it remains energized until the reset button is activated. (Lakshmi et al., 2023)

5. Who will be your intended users? Mention the end user or members of the organization
