Course Aim:
•These courses enable the student
to examine the patient with
gynecological and obstetric
problems by obtaining the history
from the patient and from other
relevant sources,
•The student will be able to
perform physical therapy
evaluation and, design a plan of
treatment, and implement it,
writing progress notes and
change plan of care according to
patient condition.
Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOS)
•knowledge and understanding:
• a.1- Identify the pelvis, pelvic floor ,perineum, abdominal
muscles, breast, reproductive tract, urinary tract and rectal region
anatomy.
• a.2- Recognize the process of normal labour.
• a.3- Describe medical management of normal labour, recognize
the guidelines for managing the pregnant woman, and
recommendations for fitness.
• a.4- Outline pregnancy back care, and symphysis pubis
dysfunction, classify some of the common disorders during
pregnancy like orthopedic and vascular disorders.
b- Intellectual Skills

• b.1- Apply the mechanics of pelvis and their role during


pregnancy and labor, apply among the reproductive tract,
urinary tract and anorectal tract
• b.2- Discover the normal physiological changes during
pregnancy, and complications of pregnancy, apply among the
different approaches of normal labour management
• b.3- Apply the effects of stress on body and mind during
antenatal period, modify the suitable pelvic floor and pelvic-
tilting exercises to prevent of back pain during antenatal
period.
c- Professional Skills

• c.1- Develops a program of physical therapy that helps to


improve the pelvis mechanics during pregnancy and labor.-

• c.2- Develops an individual physical therapy program for
female subjects based on good understanding normal
physiological changes during pregnancy, and the
complications, develop the suitable management and
precautions for high-risk pregnancies
• c.3- Design suitable individual physical therapy program
female subjects according to the approach of labour
management.
d- General Skills

• d.1- Evaluate the physical and functional status for female


subjects during pregnancy, labour and postnatal period,
• d.2- Compare common gynecological conditions to plain a
suitable effective and individual physical therapy program
aiming to improve overall their quality of life.
• d.3- Assess and evaluate restrictions of fascia and viscera.
• d.4- Contrast different gynecological pains of the pelvis.
• d.5- Assess different pelvic disorders.
