Answer the following questions considering how the author's choices in content, structure and
style contributed to their overall purpose and argument. You should also consider whether the
choices were appropriate for the context and audience.

Was the author's argument obviously one sided or did they attempt to provide a balanced
perspective?

How would you describe the overall structure of the text? Did it follow a description, sequence or
timeline, problem and solution, cause and effect or compare and contrast structure? Or was it
something else?

What other structural elements did they use to organise or arrange their content? Consider
headings, subheadings, graphic or visual elements etc.

Describe the balance of fact and opinion within the text?

Were the author's main points clear, convincing and engaging? Why or why not?
