Introduction
You want to migrate your system from SAP ERP to SAP S/4HANA. You perform the following steps in your
SAP S/4HANA development system and transport the changes to the subsequent systems (for example
quality and production).

1. Install SAP Note 2421589

This SAP Note installs the following:
• The AIF message index tables EDOAIFIDXREQ and EDOAIFIDXRES.
• The EDOC_COPY_AIF_MSG_INDEX_TAB migration program that you need to execute.

2. Execute Migration Program EDOC_COPY_AIF_MSG_INDEX_TAB

This program copies the entries from the tables ZEDOAIFIDXREQ and ZEDOAIFIDXRES used in SAP
ERP to the tables you created in step 1.

2.1. Run transaction SE38.

2.2. Enter EDOC_COPY_AIF_MSG_INDEX_TAB as Program.
2.3. Choose the Execute button.
2.4. On the selection screen, the Test run checkbox is selected per default. No entries are copied
when the program is executed in test mode. Deselect the Test run checkbox to copy the entries.

Note: The report must be executed in each client of every system where entries are available in
tables ZEDOAIFIDXREQ and ZEDOAIFIDXRES.

3. Activate AIF BC Sets for SAP S/4HANA

For each eDocument country solution that you have implemented, you must activate the latest version of
the BC Set with the solution-specific AIF customizing for SAP S/4HANA in your system. The BC Sets are
delivered in an SAP Note.
3.1. Go to ONE Support Launchpad https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#
3.2. Choose Search > Expert Search.
3.3. Enter the following search parameters:
• Components (Start with): Select the Application Component of the eDocument country
solution, for example CA-GTF-CSC-EDO-CL for Chile.
• Soft. Comp.: Select S4CORE.
• Category: Select Customizing.

Note: If the search results in more than one SAP Note, choose the one for AIF Customizing.

4. Deactivate Enhancement Implementations ZEI_EDOC_AIF_RUNTIME_METHODS and
ZEI_EDOC_AIF_V1_ACT
The following Enhancement Implementations are only needed for SAP ERP. You deactivate them in the
SAP S/4HANA system.
4.1. Go to transaction SE19.
4.2. Select the New BAdI radio button in the Edit Implementation group box and enter
ZEI_EDOC_AIF_RUNTIME_METHODS.

4.3. Choose the Change push button.

4.4. In the Runtime Behavior group box, deselect the Implementation is active check box.

4.5. Save and activate your changes. After activation, the text in the Runtime Behavior field changes
to The implementation will not be called.
4.6. Repeat steps 4.1 through 4.5 for enhancement implementation ZEI_EDOC_AIF_V1_ACT.

Note: BAdI Implementation ZEDOC_AIF is still required as long as countries have not adjusted their
programs to call the standard implementation.
