CONCEPTUAL DESIGN

19 Conceptual design is a part of a process where a concept is used to design .The

23 process sketches and models are often used to do the design. It includes the

Research Highlights

Research Highlights

The paper attempts to understand the process of design from concept to execution for an
airport. The airport is suistainable ,zero waste ,Energy efficient ,transport oriented having
four major transport modes in one site. The Method includes collection of data in the form
of photographs from the net.

CONCEPTUAL DESIGN-A GUIDE TO AIRPORT DESIGN
Conceptual design is a part of a process where a concept is used to design .The
concept can be anything based on nature or the broad outlines of form and
function outlined. It is an early part of design process or initial layout. In this
process sketches and models are often used to do the design. It includes the
design of interactions ,experiences, processes and strategies. In this age of
technology it is important to develop the creative process based on concepts of
artistic nature based on suistainability. Global challenges are often associated
with technology ,lifestyle ,global trends so the same design solution cannot be
applied with same design strategy to all specific problems faced with
contemporary urban issues. The architectural conceptual design argued in this
paper involves the design guidelines for the design of suistainable airport
structures.
If we see then Corbusier also used conceptual sketches to design Notre
dame church.
