Configure and Manage the Google Drive Integration

This article explains how to configure and manage Google Drive integration. Once configured, you can connect
directly to the Google Drive cloud storage while using Island.

The two main steps that should be performed for this integration, are as follows:

Prerequisites
Before you can configure the Google Drive integration, there are several prerequisites:

Active Google Cloud account with permissions to enable APIs and Services in the Google Cloud Console.
Active Island account with permissions to configure integrations in the Management Console (i.e. full admin,
system admin).

Setup Integration in Google Drive


To set up the integration in Google Drive, perform the following steps:

1. Sign in to the Google Cloud Console.

2. Navigate to APIs & Services > Enable APIs & Services.

3. Click Enable APIs & Services.


4. Search for the Google Drive API and click Enable.

5. Navigate to the OAuth consent screen settings.

6. Select Internal for the User Type, and click Create. 


7. Define the relevant details for the following required fields:

App name - The name of the app


User support email - This is for users to contact you for support
App logo (Optional) - This is your logo. It helps people recognize your app.
Developer contact information - This email address is for Google to notify you about any changes.
8. Click Save and Continue.

9. Click Add or Remove Scopes.


10. Using the Filter, locate and select the Google Drive API.../auth/drive scope.

11. Click Update.

12. Verify your Restricted Scopes are configured accordingly, and then click Save and Continue.

13. Navigate to the Credentials settings, click Create Credentials, and select OAuth client ID.


14. Select Desktop app for the Application Type, and enter a Name to identify your client.

15. Click Create.

16. Once the OAuth client has been created, copy the Client ID and Client Secret to a safe location for the Setup
Google Drive Integration procedure, below.

Note: You can use the Download JSON option to save these values to your device.

Setup Google Drive Integration in Island


To set up the Google Drive integration in Island, perform the following steps:

1. From the Island Management Console, navigate to Settings > Integrations > Cloud Storage.


2. Click Setup for the Google Drive integration. The Google Drive Integration Settings drawer is displayed to assist
in the configuration.

3. Enter the following information into the corresponding fields, as shown above.

Name - Enter the name of your tenant


Client ID/Client Secret - Enter the Client ID and Client Secret as saved in the Setup Integration in Google
Drive procedure, above.
4. Click Create Integration. Once created, the status of the integration is displayed below the Settings button for
Google Drive.
