SECTION B: Fiqh & Personal Development TOTAL 21 Marks

Scenario 1

After a long Ramaḍān of Fasting, ʿAbdullah is really excited that he is going on a road trip
with his family to spend ʿEīd with his cousins. His father instructs him to perform wuḍū`
before leaving for the journey because they will need to perform ṣalāh on the trip. ʿAbdullah
decides to wear a special type of socks known as Khuffayn, to make his life easier.

During the journey, ʿAbdullah and his family stop mid-way, on the side of the road to pray
Maghrib. Abdullah’s father uses a compass to navigate the direction of the Qiblah. Whilst
praying in a congregation with the rest of his family, the Imām (ʿAbdullah’s father) forgets to
go into rukūʿ. After correcting himself they continue with their journey until they reach their
destination.

The following day was ʿEīd. ʿAbdullah gets up early and prepares for ʿEīd. As they enter the
Masjid they give Sadaqah and sit patiently reciting Takbir al Tashriq. After completing their
ʿEīd prayers and listening to the Khutbah, they go out an celebrate as a family.
