The solar system

The solar system is made up of a star, the sun, and eight planets that orbit this star.

The sun is our star, it is very hot and gives us light and warmth.

Mercury is very close to the sun (the closest) and also is the smallest planet in the solar system.

Venus is the hottest, and its size is roughly the size of the earth.

The earth is our planet, it is the only one that welcomes life, it has a moon that orbits around it.

Mars is called the red planet, it is twice the size of the earth.

Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system.


It has a red spot which is a storm (whirlwind) which is twice the size of the earth, it has 60 moons
which orbit around it.
Saturn with its spectacular rings made up of pieces of ice
Uranus and Neptune are really cold and stormy.
Uranus was only discovered in modern times, due to its weak glow and very slow movement.

Neptune is 17 times the mass of the earth, and it revolves around it in 24 hours.
