MDT V9 Installation

System Requirements
For the right operation of the application, the system must have at least the following features:

CAD (1) AutoCAD® 2007 to 2024 and compatibles

BricsCAD® BIM/Pro/Ultimate 16 to 24
GstarCAD® Professional 2021 to 2024
ZWCAD® Professional 2012+ to 2024
Operating System Windows 8 / 10 / 11 in x64 architecture (2)
Peripherals Mouse or digitizing tablet
Video Card 1280x720 pixels, at least OpenGL 3.3 compatible
Nvidia or ATI chipset recommended
Hard Disk 10 GB free space
Memory 4 GB minimum
Processor Dual-core 2 GHz or better

Previous Uninstall
If the MDT V9 program is already installed on the system, it must be uninstalled prior to installation,
whether it is a demo version or a commercial license. The installer cannot modify an already installed
program.
If you have other older versions (MDT V8, MDT V7, etc.) they can coexist and you don't need to
uninstall them.

Installation process
Run the program SETUP.EXE from the USB stick or the corresponding drive. The usual installation
process for Windows applications will then run.
Read the license. If you don’t accept it, you must cancel the installation and return the program to your
dealer.
Then select the versions of CAD for which you want to install the program.

The options are:

• Files for AutoCAD: within this option include the files needed to run MDT on AutoCAD.
• Files for BricsCAD: Install them when using BricsCAD.
• Files for ZWCAD: Necessary in case you want to use MDT on ZWCAD.
• Files for GstarCAD: Necessary in case you want to use MDT on GstarCAD.
Once the components to be installed have been determined, select the destination directory of the
program.

Next, select the documentation and samples to install:

 Following are detailed the features of the different manuals that come with the program.
• Installation manual: This document.
• Customization manual: Document detailing the configuration features of the program, such
as the different layers of drawn elements, parameters, constants, colors ...
• User manual: This document describes some examples designed for fast learning of the
program’s fundamentals. If you are a new user, you should follow these examples, covering
most aspects of the program.
• Reference manual: This is a detailed guide of each command of the program.
Finally, enter the name of the program group created on the Windows Programs folder. With this
information, proceed to install the program.

On installation finish, if driver Sentinel is not already installed, a warning will appear stating that you
must install the Sentinel driver. This latter installation can request to restart your computer

 After Installation

Standalone License
Hardware Key
After installing the application, connect the USB to any free USB port. The system should
automatically recognize it. If not, read the support documentation.

Software Key (Online Activation)

If Aplitop has sent you an e-mail with EMS – Entitlement Certificate subject, you can work MDT
with a software license, which can be activated on one computer. E-mail includes a Product Key,
and a link to the activation Service.

Copy Product Key to clipboard and click on activation link. In the browser a web page will appear
in which at the bottom you can change the language. Enter Product Key, pasting the contents of the
clipboard and log in.

Next, data associated with the license will appear.

 Press the Online Activation button. If the license has remaining activations, after a few seconds, the
license is activated.

Software Key (Offline Activation)

For customers who have purchased a software license, the program does not include a USB key. In
that case, in the Aplitop program group, there is a shortcut to the Sentinel Admin Control Center.
Running it will open the default web browser. At the bottom, you can choose the language of this
app.

From the menu on the left, select the Sentinel Keys option. On the line corresponding to the
provider 2138536 (APLITOP), press the Fingerprint button, which will download a file with a .c2v
extension. Send this file to support@aplitop.com with the subject "MDT9 Activation" to request
license activation.

 Once the appropriate checks have been made, you will receive an email containing a file for the
activation of the license with extension .v2c, which you must download.

Open Sentinel Admin Control Center again and, in the side menu, run the Update/Attach option.
Click the Select File button, choose the received .v2c file and press the Apply File button.

A message should be displayed indicating that the update was successful.

 This software license cannot be reinstalled a second time. Therefore, it should be borne in mind that
you cannot format the computer without first moving the license from it to another computer. This
process is detailed in the following section.

Software License Transfer

For the process of moving a software license from a computer, the program RUS_APLITOP.exe is
used, located in the Driver directory of the MDT installation directory, by default "c:\program
files (x86)\Aplitop\MDT9". The process has three steps:
• Step 1: On the new computer, run the program RUS_APLITOP.exe and select the
Transfer License section. In the Collect information about the target computer box,
press the "..." button and choose a file name where to save the information of the recipient
computer. Then click Collect and Save Information to create the file.

• Step 2: On the computer where the license is installed, run the same program, also in the
Transfer License section. In the box Generate the license transfer file, select in the list
the line with the license of MDT, select in the first button "..." the previously generated file,
with the second button "..." specify a destination to the file where to export the license and
finally click Generate License Transfer File. With this, the license is no longer available
on this computer, and can be installed only on the new computer.

 • Step 3: Again, on the new computer, run the same program, but once in the Apply License
File section. Select the button "... ", load the file generated in the previous step and Apply
Update.

Network licenses
Hardware Key Before 2023
If you have purchased a network license, you can put the USB key into another computer, and it will
work as a license server. In this server computer, you must first install the sentinel driver located in
“c:\Program Files (x86)\Aplitop\MDT9\Driver, "setup.exe" file.
On client computers do not normally need to specify the server computer. They automatically
perform a search on the local network. If server computer is in another subnet, you must configure
the clients. To do this, run your CAD program with a user with administrative privileges and type in
the command line:

 MDT9_SERVIDOR [Enter]
In the window, select Fixed Server and enter the server computer name or IP address.

Software Key or Hardware Key After September 2023

If you have purchased a network license, you can place the USB key, or install the software license,
on a computer other than the one that has MDT installed. On this server computer, it is first
necessary to install the LDK sentinel runtime located in the directory "c:\Program Files
(x86)\Aplitop\MDT9\Driver", file "haspdinst_2138536.exe" on any computer where MDT9 is
installed. To install it, run the file with the "-i" parameter in a shell window.

Learning
The program includes a User Manual, with practical examples for step by step. It is recommended
reading this document before proceeding to work with real projects. Also, it is recommended
reading the Reference Manual, to know all the possibilities offered by the program.
In addition, in video library you have videos that explain the most common tasks.

Further customization
Aplitop applications are highly customizable by the user. Multiple parameters can be changed in
settings such as layer names, block definition, default values of parameters, and so on. See the
Customization Guide for details.

Troubleshooting
Installation program automatically installs the required drivers for checking the dongle. Only in the case
of acquiring a network license will have to perform some additional post-installation customization.
If program displays the message "ERROR: Hardlock not found" or similar, you may not have been
properly installed Sentinel drivers. For proper installation, run the file "setup.exe" located in the folder
"c:\program files (x86)\aplitop\mdt9\driver ". After the installation, restart your computer.
For proper installation, run the "setup.exe" file located in the folder "c:\Program Files
(x86)\Aplitop\MDT9\Driver". After the installation is complete, restart the computer
If no MDT menu appears in CAD, or some command has removed it, type in the CAD command line:
MDT9_MENU [Enter]
In a similar way, if you're not seeing the MDT ribbon in AutoCAD 2010 or higher, type in the command
line:
MDT9_MENU2 [Enter]
It is also possible to use a MDT toolbar. To display it, type in the command line:
MDT9_TB [Enter]
