INTRODUCTION SUSPENSION SYSTEM

-Suspension is the system of tires, tire air, springs, shock absorbers and linkages that connects a
vehicle
- The job of a vehicle’s suspension system is to keep the car riding as smoothly as possible, as
well as to keep the car in control while driving on the road
-Suspension systems must support both road handling and ride quality which are at odds with
each other.
-The tuning of suspensions involves finding the right compromise. It is important for the
suspension to keep the road wheel in contact with the road surface as much as possible, because
all the road or ground forces acting on the vehicle do so through the contact patches of the tires
-The suspension also protects the vehicle itself and make sure passenger feel comfortable.

COMPONENTS IN SUSPENSION SYSTEM

-There a few important components in suspension system such as

1. Tire
-The only parts to touch the ground
2. Coil Spring
-Absorb impact when driving

3 Shock Absorber
-Dampen the compression and rebound of the springs and suspension
4 JOINTS, AND BUSHING
-Joints provide pivoting movement between the steering knuckles and control arms to
provide a safe, smooth ride and allow you to precisely control your vehicle.
-Bushing mounted on car suspension and steering joints to absorb road bumps, control
the amount of movement in the joints and reduce noise and vibration.

5 BEARING
-Bearings can be used in conjunction with joints to reduce friction and allow for smooth
movement. They provide support for the weight of other components as well as help maintain
alignment between moving parts.
-Bearing allows torsional movement of the shock absorber with low friction and has a
positive influence on the steering characteristics of the vehicle.
5 STEERING SYSTEM
-Allow the wheels to move independently of the car, while keeping it "suspended" and
stable

6 FRAMES
-A frame typically consists of two main parts: the main part of the frame (or chassis) and
its sub-frame. The main part of the frame acts as a backbone, giving the vehicle its stability and
strength while carrying all other components.
