1 OBJECTIVE

The objectives of this report are to evaluate and validate the solar tracker system proposed by the
vendor, as well as to suggest ways to improve overall system and structural stability.

2 INTRODUCTION

The solar array layout is made up of multiple rows that have been divided into different zones
based on their location and configuration. The trackers on the first two rows of the array, which are
more exposed to wind forces, have a more robust structure than trackers on the more interior
rows. Trackers beginning in the third row correspond to the array's more interior rows. These
interior rows are further subdivided into central and perimeter.

The array is made up of several dual rows that are moved by a single motor. The rotation
movement on the opposite row is transmitted by a lever system similar to the one shown in Figure
2.

The trackers proposed for the array have 56 solar panels in a portrait configuration (2 string), 28
per side, for a total length of approximately 65 m across all rows. Each solar panel is
approximately 2256x1133 mm in size and is mounted on a beam supported by posts that are
around 1525 mm in height.

3 OVERALL VENDOR EVALUATION

by Samy Safwat

4 GENERAL OBSERVATIONS

The following comments on the proposed system require further discussion or clarification from the
supplier.

4.1 ROWS ORIENTATION.

Based on the general layout drawing, it is observed that the row orientation is parallel to the north-
south direction, which is opposite the solar window (common orientation) - see figure below - thus
the supplier must submit a thorough report explaining this issue.

4.2 ROWS ARRANGEMENTS.

The tracker system is dual rows, but single row trackers were utilized in the layout arrangements;
consequently, it is recommended to replace single row trackers with dual row tracker to reduce
movement equipment. on the general layout

4.3 ANNEX BUILDINGS AND TEMPORARY STRUCTURES.

Although the annex buildings and temporary structures have been considered in the general
layout, detailed drawings for the aforementioned structures should be provided for review.

4.4 UTILITIES LAYOUT.

Both temporary utilities (during the construction phase) and permanent utilities (during the
operation stage) were not shown.

4.5 GENERAL NOTES AND SPECIFICATION.

General Notes for the drawings, as well as the project specification, must be submitted.

4.6 BILL OF QUANTITY AND MATERIAL TRACKING LIST.

The supplier must provide a complete bill of quantities as well as a material tracking list.

4.7 MAINTENANCE AND ACCESSIBILITY.

The supplier must implement a comprehensive maintenance plan for all equipment & elements,
including accessibility method to them.

4.8 ALTERNATIVE PROPOSAL FOR TRACKING SYSTEM.

The tracking system provided consists of two rows that are moved by a single motor. an other
suggestion to use a single motor to move multiple rows worth to study and comparing to the
provided tracking system
