Title TBD: A General Analysist Draft 1

[Introduction]

[Controlling idea] The Office of Student Health Services uses the informative flyer, to

show all Texas A&M International Students that it is a requirement to submit all medical and

immunizing records to the Office of Students and Health Services. With the informative genre,

the Office of Student and Health Services uses the title to alert all incoming students to submit

medical and immunization records as well as giving students steps to take to submit their records

and a number and email for students to contact if necessary.

[Topic sentence/Point] One of the ways the TAMIU Office of Student Health Services

informs students is by the title which alerts all incoming students that it is a requirement to

submit medical and immunization records. The title of the informative flyer is [Evidence &

Explanation] “All incoming students are required to use Med+Proctor to submit

medical/immunization records.” This title quickly informs all incoming students at Texas A&M

International University to submit their medical records and immunization records. The Office of

Student Health Services use this title to capture the audience. They also utilize the [Evidence &

Explanation] font of the title. The font of this title is the largest font on the paper to really set the

tone for the flyer and make sure the incoming students who view the flyer understand the flyer’s

meaning is. Another way the title stands out is the [Evidence] title location. The title is set at the

very top of the page right underneath the logo of TAMIU. They set the title at the top to reveal

what the flyer is trying to portray.

[Topic sentence] In addition to the title, the Office of Student Health Services utilizes a series

of steps, giving students steps to take to submit their records. The Office of Student Health

Services give the student 3 steps to follow and submit their records. These steps are the

following. [Evidence]

“Step 1: Register

 The instructions “Visit medproctor.com and click "register" to start a new account. Type

in your school email address to get started and follow the directions to register a new

account.”

“Step 2: Download

 The instructions “Fill out any required personal, medical or insurance information.

Download the required forms and follow the directions provided.”

“Step 3: Upload

 The instructions “Log back in to your Med+ Proctor account and upload a copy of your

forms. Make sure your forms are complete and legible. You will receive an email

confirmation once the forms have been reviewed.”

[Explanation] The Office of Student Health Services include these steps so students who pass by

can either take a flyer or simply take a picture. Another reason is because incoming students are

not very familiar with how TAMIU websites work, so they include links and steps to where you

need to go to submit your medical records. They include subtitles to inform students what step

they are on and where to go, and under the subtitle is in depth steps to take and gives instructions

to the students by giving them links. On the informative flyer the steps to take is right underneath

the title and takes up around half of the page, and they are written in small to medium letters.

[Topic Sentence] Along with the 3 steps, the Office of Student Health Services give the

student a number and email for them to contact if they are experiencing any difficulties

submitting their immunization records. The Office gives a phone number “(956) 326-2235”

and an email “vaccine@tamiu.edu”. They include this information because any incoming

students that have questions or concerns about special health services they might need or

further instruction on submitting their medical and immunization records. Both the phone

number and email are at the bottom of the page in small font since, the phone number and

email should be the last resort to contact because instructions are listed above.

[Why] The Office of Student Health Services uses the informative flyer, to show all

incoming Texas A&M International Students that they are required to submit all medical and

immunizing records to the Office of Student Health Services. [How] With the informative genre,

the Office of Student and Health Services uses the title to alert all incoming students to submit

medical and immunization records as well as giving students steps to take to submit their records

and a number and email for students to contact if necessary. [Importance]The reason why

submitting your record is important is because if you fail to submit your medical and

immunization records then you will not be able to attend the University of Texas A&M

International.
