Overview
“Richard Cory” is a
narrative poem that
describes a wealthy,
well-educated, mannerly
person who is admired by
the people in his town
and yest despite of
this, he commits
suicide.

Whenever Richard Cory went down And admirably schooled in every
town, grace:
We people on the pavement looked at In fine, we thought that he was

He was a gentleman from sole to To make us wish that we were in his
