WORKING INSTRUCTIONS NEAR ELECTRIC POWER TRANSMISSION

LINES
Setup
1- Take necessary security measures in energy transmission lines near the building area.
2- Make sure that the voltage of the electric line passing through the area of use of the equipment is cut. If this is not
possible, ensure that equipment is kept away from the power line with barriers or warning signs.

3- Protect the energy transmission lines in the building area by taking them under protection from external damage or
by suspending them.
4- Equip electrical lines with audible and / or illuminated warning signs so that everyone can see and recognise.
5- Work near free power lines only if the safety distance is not exceeded.
6- Take into consideration the shaking of the transmission line wires in the wind when determining the safety
distance.
7- Absolutely, the maximum approach distance accepted for conductors under voltage shall not be exceeded according
to Article 5 of TEIAS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY REGULATION when working and / or in stationary
equipment.
If the voltage on the line is unknown, stay at least 4.5 meters away.
1000-15.000 Voltage, between 66 cm
15.001-36.000 Voltage, between 82 cm
59.000-72.500 Voltage, between 110 cm
140.000-170.000 Voltage, between 155 cm
200.000-250.000 Voltage, between 213 cm
340.000-420.000 Voltage, between 352 cm
Upper values are used for the high voltage equipment operated at voltages outside the ranges given above.
8- In the following works, supervise against the danger of approaching too much to electric power transmission lines
without permission.
Machinery (eg crane, loader, concrete pump, construction lifts, mechanical ladders), Large surface loads in lifting
equipment (eg iron railings, formwork elements, protruding parts), Mounting parts (eg steel roof back beam,
profiled sheets).

9- If providing sufficient safety distance to the electricity lines is not possible;

De-energize the wires and maintain this condition until the end of the work, or Cover the wires with electrical
current (1) or separate them from the work area with barriers. (2)

10- Determine and implement these measures continuously together with the transmission line operator.

11- If the Construction Machine Touches the Electric Power Transmission Line;

Calm down.

If possible, slowly disconnect the construction

machine from the power line.

If you cannot separate, call the hotline or

emergency manager.

Never leave your seat until help arrives and the

power line is disconnected.

Warn everyone by shouting and with the horn

CALM DOWN
so that nobody can approach or get around the
construction machine. If possible, calmly disconnect the machine from the
line.
If that's not possible, call the emergency manager
Notify the authorities over the phone and immediately.
ensure that around the area is covered. Be sure to sit inside the cabin, do not get out until help
arrives and the power is cut off.

12- If the Risk of Fire Increases While Waiting;

Jump neatly and forwardly from the

Construction Machine.

Absolutely do not touch the machine.

Encircle the machine and do not allow

anyone to approach.

IF FIRE RISK INCREASES WHILE WAITING

Jump neatly and forwardly from the Construction

Machine.
Never touch the machine.
Encircle the machine and allow no one to approach.

13- If an electric arc occurs due to the construction machine contacting or approaching the electric power line, never
touch the machine while stepping on the ground. Don't let anyone touch the machine either.

OTHERWISE
AN ELECTRIC SHOCK
WILL OCCUR.

DANGER OF DEATH!
Never step on the ground and touch the
machine while the Construction Machine
contacting the Power Line. Otherwise, the
electric current will flow over you and flow
into the ground.

14- Train your employees and inform them about the dangers before starting the work.

15- Be sure to follow the construction site rules, instructions, as well as work health and safety and environmental rules
described in the training.
