under a pressure above the pumped liquid
pressure.
To ensure a correct pressure a self-
regulating seal fluid pressure booster is
fitted to the pump.
The pressure booster needs no external
connection for compressed air or nitrogen.
The required differential pressure over
the cargo seal is achieved by the preset
spring load. The correct seal fluid pressure
is automatically regulated by the piston
activated by the pumped liquid pressure.
In addition to the heavy duty gauges
showing discharge pressure, inlet pressure,
and seal oil pressure there is an external
piston rod for seal fluid level indication.
The Wärtsilä Svanehøj self-regulating
shaft sealing system ensures maximum shaft
seal life time and thus minimum maintenance
costs in addition to easy and safe use.
