Kidde Fire Systems is pleased to provide the following consolidated recommendation for minimum
design concentration for Class A, B and C based on NFPA 2001, 2015 edition, our bulletin # 15-06K and
the addition of Nitrogen to the Kidde agent portfolio:
Updated flooding factors for a range of hazard temperatures and agent concentrations are included
with this bulletin in metric and US units. These replace the tables included with 2012 bulletin #12-04.
Please note:
1. In jurisdictions where earlier editions of NFPA 2001 are used, it is acceptable to base the minimum
design concentration on that edition. The governing authority or authority having jurisdiction
(AHJ) must specifically approve the design approach selected.
2. Flooding factors are sourced from NFPA 2001-2015 with the exception for Design Concentrations
not covered by NFPA where the data is calculated by Kidde.
3. While the NFPA calculated flooding factors cover a wide range of temperatures, the designer
must ensure that system design and application is based on flooding factors within temperature
limits defined in respective Kidde DIOM manuals and other literature. The data for temperatures
outside of those listed in Kidde literature is informational only.
