According to ICSH guideline (international Council for Standardisation in Hematology), the differential counts should be reported
in absolute numbers.

NOTE :
HbA1c provides an index of average blood glucose levels over the past 8 to 12 weeks and is a much better indicator of long term
glycemic control as compared to blood and urinary glucose determinations, this single test can be used for both diagnosing and
monitoring diabetes.
ADA recommends measurement of HbA1c 3 to 4 times per year in Type 1 diabetes and poorly controlled Type 2 diabetes patients,
in well controlled Type 2 diabetes patients the test can be performed twice a year.

Note :
This is a screening test for detecting HBsAg. All reactive results must be confirmed by Neutralizing confirmatory test or by HBV
DNA detection assay. Discrepant results may be observed during pregnancy, patients receiving mouse monoclonal antibodies for
diagnosis or therapy & mutant forms of HBsAg. For diagnostic purposes, results should be used in conjunction with clinical history
and other hepatitis markers for Acute or Chronic infection.

Comments :
Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) is a member of the Hepadna virus family causing infections of the liver with extremely variable clinical

features. Hepatitis B is transmitted primarily by blood, body fluids and also spread by sexual transmission and from mother to
baby. In most individuals HBV hepatitis is self limiting, but 1-2% normal adolescents and adults develop Chronic Hepatitis.
Frequency of chronic HBV infection is 5-10% in immunocompromised patients and 80% in neonates. The initial serological marker
of acute infection is HBsAg which typically appears 2-3 months after infection and disappears 12-20 weeks after onset of
symptoms. Presistence of HBsAg for more than six months indicates development of carrier state or Chronic liver disease.
