    Characteristics of the Baby Moth My Characteristics

    • Curious about everything. • Not afraid to make mistakes.
    • Takes risk just to know what is • Capable of making decisions for
    bothering the mind. one’s own good.
    • Not easily tempted.

    Conclusion:

    The narrative of the moth and the lamp feels like one from the memories of his mother's
    childhood. The young moth was warned repeatedly by his mother not to approach the light,
    but the young moth disregarded her warnings and lost to the warmth and brightness of the
    light. The tiny moth thus slowly burned till it disappeared.

    This short story reminded me to always listen to my parents since they are the ones who
    know best who knows right from wrong. They know what's best for us, their kids. We
    shouldn't let the tempting nature of whatever we see influence us since sometimes it leads to
    regret. This is comparable to Rizal's life before his passing. Because of his excellent
    education, Rizal had the same freedom to think and learn as the moth. He made the best
    usage of it by relating it to his understanding of what was ethical and correct for a Filipino
    to do under foreign control. He was detained and prosecuted of producing novels that
    angered the enemies.

    Recommendation:

    The only thing I would like to add to this short story is that we should listen to our parents.
    We should learn to make decisions and balance circumstances to understand the possible
    consequences in the end. It's not wrong to be curious, but we should also learn to assess what
    could happen because we are responsible for our own decisions. We should not be blinded by
    beautiful and enticing things, as sometimes, those who appear attractive can also be harmful.
