The Everything Packing List

Essentials

Medicines, especially the uncommon ones.


Identification docs like Aadhar card and PAN card, soft copies of 10th/12th mark
sheets, as well as any other documents the institute has asked you to get.
Earphones/headphones (Because you WILL have a roommate)
Chargers and extra cables
Power strip/ extension cable
Disposable cutlery (for when you make Maggi or order out and find that there is
no cutlery)
Vessels like coffee mugs, plates, bowls, etc. (somewhat discretionary)
Heating bag for periods (if you menstruate)
Insect Repellants
Toiletries (including nail clippers, razors etc.)
Bedsheets
Sticky wall hooks- super essential. This is a highly underrated item, but it will help
you in ways you will not imagine. It is convenient, cheap and beneficial. You
should have some handy for your room.

Weather-related

Good comforter (read up on how cold the city you’re moving to gets)
Blankets/ thick quilts for the winter
Umbrella
Rubber flip-flops (for the rain, and they double as bathroom slippers)
Caps/ shades for the summer

Clothing and Accessories

A pair of business formal (we recommend 1 full suit + 1 shirt + 1 pair of trousers +
formal shoes; it is good to have extra formal shirts, just in case. )
Sports shoes
Something for a party or 3
Woolens, thermals, hoodies, and sweaters (for the winter)
Socks and Innerwear (if you plan to laundry once a week, 8 pairs each, if not
more)
Sportswear (if you like to go to the gym or play sports)
A good laptop bag (and a laptop case, if your laptop is delicate.)
A small backpack/tote bag for market visits.

Room stuff

Posters and LEDs (for room decor, if that’s something you want)
Boxes and baskets (for organization; trust us, they’re life savers)
Basic stationery (get this from home, or order online here: the nearest stationery
shop is about 20 minutes away)
Water bottle (a sturdy one to carry with you all day)

Things you can order online or buy from the market in the city you’re to:

Rugs
Laundry bags
Pillows + Blankets
Detergent
Notebooks

Things that you need one of, between you and your roommate; and can
buy from your city

Lock and key (for your room door)


Appliances (kettle, hair dryer, speakers, steamer/iron, epilator, straightener, etc.:
decide what you need and what you don’t)
Broom and Buckets ( you can order these online or buy them from the market in the
city you’re to)

Discretionary things:

Rugs
Room freshener
Tissue box
Study lamp

This list isn’t too exhaustive, but we’ve tried to cover everything that came to mind.
