Writing about Writing

The Writing about Writing approach is a course that focuses on Rhetorical and Writing
Studies. This course teaches students how to find the writing style that works best for them. The
writing-about-writing approach also teaches students how writing works because it focuses on
writing and does not go over as much reading comprehension as you see in most English classes.
This helps students learn the correct writing style for them and it makes it so they become very
good at the writing style they choose. I feel like this will help me understand more about the
writing style that works best for me, giving me more creativity when it comes to writing.

I do not know exactly what my writing style is and I think that this course will allow me
to find my identity as a writer. Writing about writing helps me know what research I can and can
not use. I feel like I understand more about how to write about any topic. I feel that the
components of good writing are knowing what you are writing about and how you want the
readers to view or feel about your writing. You need to make sure that you know as much as you
can about what you are writing about.

This means that if it is argumentative writing you must research both sides. It is important
that the author states all points that will bring clarity to the writing making it easier for the
readers to follow and understand the text. I think it is important that the author does not include
their opinions and treat them like it is fact. I like to read when the writing keeps my interest. One
of the ways writing often keeps my focus is when it uses cliffhangers. I do not think that there is
a way to define “good writing” but these are some things that I believe make the writing better.
