The Problem and Its Settings

Introduction
The rapid advancement of technology and globalization has highlighted
the critical importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
(STEM) education. STEM education equips students with the necessary
knowledge and skills to navigate the complex challenges of the 21st century. One
key aspect of STEM education is its potential to foster problem-solving skills,
which are vital for individuals to succeed in their personal and professional lives.
Aims to analyze the impact of the STEM strand on problem-solving skills
development within an international context. By examining the effectiveness of
STEM education in nurturing problem-solving abilities, we seek to provide
valuable insights into its potential benefits and implications for educational
systems worldwide.

In today's rapidly advancing world, the development of problem-solving


skills has become crucial for individuals to thrive in various fields. In the context
of the Philippines, where there is a growing demand for a skilled workforce in
STEM-related industries, understanding the impact of the STEM strand on
problem-solving skills development at a national level is of paramount
importance.Furthermore, it intends to explore the specific teaching
methodologies, curriculum design, and learning experiences employed within the
STEM programs across the country. By examining successful practices and
potential challenges, we can identify the factors that contribute to or hinder the
development of problem-solving skills at a national level. This will enable us to
provide evidence-based recommendations for policymakers, educators, and
other stakeholders to enhance the integration of the STEM strand and maximize
its impact on problem-solving skills development in the Philippines.

In the quest for educational excellence and relevance, the Science,


Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand has gained recognition
as a pathway to develop critical skills required for the 21st-century workforce. In
Calbayog City, a vibrant and progressive locality in the Philippines,
understanding the impact of the STEM strand on problem-solving skills
development at a local level holds significant implications for the city's
educational landscape and the future prospects of its students.Moreover, this
research will investigate potential variations in problem-solving skills
development among different schools, students, and socio-economic
backgrounds within Calbayog City
Statement of the Problem
Due to the student who are lack in solving problems, this
study determine the Impact of the STEM Strand On Problem
Solving Skills Development.
Specifically, it seek to answer the following questions:
