Objective :

The objective is to create a Hospital Management System (HMS) that boasts a strong
database to facilitate efficient operations, better decision-making, and increased
productivity.

Scope:

1) A relational database management system with a centralised database.

2) Modules: inventory control, billing, reporting, appointment scheduling, and patient

management.

3) User-friendly interface for medical and administrative personnel.

Architecture:

1) Relational databases, such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, are used to store structured data.

2) Web-based application architecture with three tiers.

3) Scalability through modular design.

Functions :

1) Patient Management:

2)Appointment Scheduling.

3) Staff Administration:

Staff information, duties, and permissions.

4)Inventory Management :

inventory management and automated reorder notifications.

5) Finance and Billing:

creating invoices and monitoring financial transactions.

6) Analytics and Reporting:

Data analytics and reports that are customizable.

Safety and Adherence:

1)Data encryption and secure authentication.

2)adherence to HIPAA and other healthcare data privacy laws.

Conclusion :

In summary, the Hospital Management System Database Management Project seeks to improve
patient care, increase the effectiveness of healthcare operations, and provide the groundwork for
