1. Diwali is a festival of lights and is also known as Deepavali.


2. It is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in India.
3. This festival falls in the month of October or November.
4. Diwali is celebrated because on this day Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya
after 14 years of exile.
5. On this day people worship Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesha.
6. This festival represents the triumph of good over evil and light over
darkness.
7. People celebrate Diwali by lighting earthen oil lamps and decorating their
houses with different lights.
8. Families and friends visit each other, exchange gifts, and share delicious
food to celebrate the occasion.
9. Kids celebrate this festival by bursting crackers and fireworks, but we
must use eco – friendly crackers to avoid air and noise pollution.
