Two Gospels?

In modern Christianity there are two gospels competing for the hearts and minds of hearers:
1. Mixed-grace gospel: You are saved by grace but sanctified by works
2. Hyper-grace gospel: You are saved by grace and sanctified by grace
What is a mixed-grace gospel?
It’s the message that you are saved by grace but kept through works. It’s the belief that says one of God’s
blessings (salvation) comes by grace but all the others (holiness, forgiveness, fellowship, etc.) come
through works.
This mixed-gospel is a partial gospel because it’s partly good news. Jesus saved you (that’s the good
part), but the rest is up to you (that’s the not so good part).
What is the hyper-grace gospel?
It’s Jesus plus nothing. It’s Christ alone. It’s the announcement that Jesus is the author and perfecter of
your faith and that He will keep you and present you as faultless to Himself (Heb. 12:2, Jude 1:24).
To quote Watchman Nee, it’s the declaration that “from start to finish, He is the One who does it all.” In
the words of D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, it’s the message that causes you to trust in
… grace at the beginning, and grace at the end. So that when you and I come to lie upon our death beds,
the one thing that should comfort and help and strengthen us there is the thing that helped us in the
beginning. Not what we have been, not what we have done, but the grace of God in Jesus Christ our
Lord. The Christian life starts with grace, it must continue with grace, it ends with grace. Grace wondrous
grace.
The hyper-grace gospel says all the blessings of God come to us freely as gifts. Forgiveness is a gift.
Salvation is a gift. Acceptance is a gift. Righteousness is a gift. Holiness is a gift.
All the gifts of God are found in Jesus Christ. Indeed, Jesus is the Gift (John 3:16). This is why the hyper-
grace gospel will always point you to Jesus. Whatever your need, He is your rich supply. In the words of
an ancient saint, “He who has the Lord has everything.”
In my next post I will show you how to recognize a mixed-grace gospel and then after that I will show
you how to recognize the hyper-grace gospel. But if you can’t wait, you will find the main differences

As you can see, the two gospels are very different. A mixed-grace gospel puts the focus on you and your
works, while the hyper-grace gospel puts the focus on Jesus and His grace.

2. Hyper-rahmat Injil: Anda diselamatkan oleh kasih karunia dan dikuduskan oleh kasih karunia

Apa yang dimaksud dengan campuran rahmat Injil?

Ini pesan yang Anda diselamatkan oleh kasih karunia tapi terus melalui karya. Ini keyakinan yang
mengatakan salah satu berkat Tuhan (keselamatan) datang dengan hadiah, tetapi semua yang lain
(kekudusan, pengampunan, persekutuan, dll) datang melalui karya.

Ini-Injil campuran adalah Injil parsial karena itu berita baik sebagian. Yesus menyelamatkan Anda (itu
bagian yang baik), tapi sisanya terserah Anda (itu bagian tidak begitu baik).

Apa hiper-rahmat Injil?

Ini Yesus ditambah apa-apa. Ini Kristus saja. Ini adalah pengumuman bahwa Yesus adalah penulis dan
dalam iman dan bahwa Dia akan membuat Anda dan membawa kamu sebagai sempurna untuk diri-Nya
(Ibr 12:. 2, Jude 1:24).

Mengutip Watchman Nee, itu adalah pernyataan bahwa "dari awal sampai akhir, Dialah yang tidak
semuanya." Dalam kata-kata D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, itu pesan yang menyebabkan Anda percaya

... Kasih karunia di awal, dan kasih karunia di akhir. Sehingga ketika Anda dan saya datang untuk
berbaring pada tempat tidur kematian kita, satu hal yang harus menghibur dan membantu dan
menguatkan kita ada hal yang membantu kami di awal. Tidak apa yang telah kita, bukan apa yang telah
kita lakukan, melainkan kasih karunia Allah dalam Yesus Kristus, Tuhan kita. Kehidupan Kristen dimulai
dengan kasih karunia, maka harus terus dengan rahmat, itu berakhir dengan rahmat. Rahmat kasih
karunia yang menakjubkan.

Hiper-rahmat Injil mengatakan semua berkat Allah datang kepada kita dengan bebas sebagai hadiah.
Pengampunan adalah hadiah. Keselamatan adalah hadiah. Penerimaan adalah hadiah. Kebenaran
adalah hadiah. Kekudusan adalah hadiah.

Semua karunia Allah yang ditemukan di dalam Yesus Kristus. Memang, Yesus adalah Hadiah (Yohanes
3:16). Inilah sebabnya mengapa hiper-rahmat Injil akan selalu mengarahkan Anda kepada Yesus. Apapun
kebutuhan Anda, Dia adalah pasokan kaya Anda. Dalam kata-kata seorang suci kuno, "Dia yang memiliki
Tuhan memiliki segalanya."

Dalam posting berikutnya saya akan menunjukkan cara untuk mengenali campuran-rahmat Injil dan
kemudian setelah itu saya akan menunjukkan cara untuk mengenali hiper-karunia Injil. Tapi jika Anda
