Chapter 10

The Little Prince arrives at a set of asteroids and meets a king on the first of them.
This king is initially excited to see him at first and invites him to come closer,
revealing his royal and majestic attitude. Although the king is presented as a
powerful and absolute ruler who rules over everything from planets to stars, his
throne is occupied by his ermine cloak, reflecting a paradox between his greatness
and his earthly limitations.
The king is curious about the action of the principle of yawning and, although he
forbids this display of tiredness, he is interested in it and orders him to yawn again.
The little prince, somewhat embarrassed, obeys, leading to a brief interaction
between the two. Despite his firm claim to be an absolute king, the king also
presents himself as a reasonable and benevolent man, demonstrating an
interesting nuance in his character.
However, as the conversation progresses, the beginning expresses his desire to
witness a sunset. The king, instead of fulfilling his request immediately, postpones
it until conditions are favorable. This lack of readiness to satisfy his desire
discourages him, and the principle decides to continue with his journey, leaving the
king with his offer of a position as Minister of Justice, which the principle rejects.
This episode leaves him reflecting on the peculiar and sometimes disconcerting
nature of the adults they have encountered on their journey through the asteroids.

Chapter 11
Now, The Little Prince arrives on a planet inhabited by a vain man. At first, the little
prince sees no one, but then he discovers the vain man, who asks him to admire
him. The vain man boasts about his ability to receive compliments and asks the
little prince to praise him. Despite his attempts to praise him, the vain man is
dissatisfied and asks the little prince to admire him more.
The little prince realizes that the vain man does not really listen to what he is told,
since he is only concerned with his own praise. After a brief words exchange, the
little prince leaves, leaving the vain man alone in his endless search for adulation
and praise. This encounter leads the little prince to reflect on the superficial nature
of vanity and the importance of true connection and understanding in human
interactions.
