The document is an extract from a book about the Making of Star Wars Episode I.
It relates how G. Lucas created the fictional character A. Skywalker, later nicknamed Darth
Vader and how he wrote the screenplay for this episode.

First G. Lucas had known the story a long time ago. He then wrote the screenplay. Next, he
conceived the character. And he decided to choose the character’s age. He also explained the
character’s skills. Finally, he had to make the ending.

The story was about a 9 year-old boy called A. Skywalker who was born on a small planet.
He left his mother and was traumatically affected by the separation. He was extremely bright
as a boy. Indeed, he was skillful enough to learn quickly how to drive and race. He was even
well able to fly a spaceship.

However, he turned to the dark side and became known as Darth Vader. As Darth Vader, he
was the worst cyber villain of the galaxy and nobody remembered he had been a loveable
and brilliant kid before. He died saving his son reminding him everybody that he had once
been very much human.
