name-. Presence with us today, my learned counsels, XXXX and XXXX, the legal
counsel for -defendant name-, appearing on behalf of the Defendant.
Before I proceed, I would like to humbly inform Yang Arif that the defendant is unable to
present himself by the court today. We have come to an agreement and we hereby hope
we can proceed without him, if Yang Arif allow?
Today we would like to update to the court about our progress. Yang Arif, may I
proceed to update briefly about our progress?
Firstly, the Plaintiff has initiated the case by serving a writ of summon together with the
statement of claim on 1st August 2023. The Plaintiff also had served an affidavit of service
on 8th August 2023. The Defendant within 2 days has entered the appearance which is
Memorandum of Appearance and also had served a statement of defence on 14 th August
2023 to respond to the Plaintiff’s statement of claim. As of that, we would like to inform
Yang Arif that the plaintiff will not be replying to the statement of defence.
