Speed Blackjack Handbook

About the Game

Speed BLACKJACK is a variation of Classic Blackjack game.
The rules and strategy of the game are the same as in classic blackjack, But the main
difference is the dealing order when it is time for the player to make their decision.
Initial two cards are dealt as usual, in the regular order, left to right. When the
dealing of the first two cards is complete, players who have joined the table are
offered the chance to hit, stand, double down or split at the same time. The one
who makes their decision first gets their next card first. Such a pattern is applied to
all the players.
In Speed blackjack, side bets and bet behind options are available, Combinations
and payouts are the same as in Classic Blackjack.
In addition, players can occupy multiple seats on the table and they are also
allowed to make pre-decisions as well.
Differences between Blackjack and Speed BJ

Betting time is 12 seconds, Decision making time is 11 seconds (vs

Classic BJ -16 sec)
When the dealing of the first two cards is complete, players who
have joined the table are offered the chance to hit, stand, double
down or split at the same time. The one who makes their decision
first gets their next card first. Such a pattern is applied to all the
players. All players make decisions at the same time as soon as all
initial cards are dealt.
The card is dealt to the first player who has requested a card
throughout the game.
After splitting, the player receives a card on each hand and the
next card is dealt to a player who has requested a card.
Overall, should avoid any game delay.
Game Leading

One of the requirements of Speed Blackjack is to have a fast game

with quick and short comments. All players make their decisions
at the same time as soon as all initial cards are dealt.
The GP indicates the playing Hand only once - before dealing the
additional card. (Before Hit, DD, Split)
Offering DD or Split is not mandatory and there is no requirement
to indicate it with fingers in case GP does decide to offer it.
GP covers barcodes only if the player requests a 5th card.
Performance
In Speed blackjack, side bets and bet behind options are available,
Combinations and payouts are the same as in Classic Blackjack.
In addition, players can occupy multiple seats on the table. They are
allowed to make pre-decisions as well.
As soon as initial cards are dealt, Game Presenter should announce:
"Ladies and gentlemen, you are welcome to make your decisions."
"Decision time is open for all players."
Game Presenter should announce Side Bet winners as soon as initial
cards are dealt:
"Congratulations on Side Bet winnings to ... "
During the game, Game Presenter can encourage players to make
decisions at any time whenever they are ready. As soon as decisions are
made, Game Presenter announces e.g.:
"Hit for John on 15 ... that's 19, Splitting Adam's pair of 8s ... 19 and 18,
Amy and George keeping the results .. and that's a Double down on
Carl's 11... 19 after double down"
STAND should be commented only if there is time between decisions or
before revealing dealer's cards:
"Everyone else keeping the results", "STAND for rest of the player's" or
Game Presenter just reveals dealer's cards.
In the end of the game Game Presenter congratulates all players,
especially complimenting BJs, successful Double Downs, and Splits.
Game Specific Exceptions

In case if there is only one player making decision, Game

Presenter can point to the player or show with hand gesture, but
it is not obligatory.
In case if Game Presenter did not comment all STAND decisions
(to avoid game delay) it is not a performance mistake.
Game Presenter should cover barcodes on seat 2-7 only when
player requests 5th card.

Main idea is to avoid game delay.
