Question  2    Continue  the  given  part  above  the  figured  basses  provided  (over  the  page)  to  create  a  two-­‐part  
instrumental  texture  in  each  case.    Think  of  the  line  you  write  as  being  for  solo  violin  or  flute.    The  first  exercise  
is  in  two  phrases,  ending  with  a  half  cadence  in  the  first  phrase  and  an  authentic  cadence  in  the  second.    The  
second  exercise  is  in  three  phrases  (authentic  cadence,  half  cadence,  authentic  cadence).  (NB:  Occasionally,
