2. (a) Esters are very commonly found in plants and are responsible for many distinctive odors

11. (a) Atoms of both sodium and chlorine are unstable. They react to form an ionic compound
which is more stable. Diagram 11.1 shows a compound that is produced by the formation
of an ionic bond between a sodium ion, Na+ and a chloride ion, Cl-.
