1.1 Shopee
Shopee's mission in Malaysia is to make online buying easy and trustworthy for
Southeast Asian consumers, strengthening the local economy by connecting consumers
and merchants through a convenient online marketplace.
The platform caters to the specific requirements of the Malaysian market, with
investments in Malaysia allowing the company to grow its product categories and
introduce innovative innovations like Shopee Mall, ShopeePay, and Shopee Live. The
brand's massive marketing efforts and events, such as the 9.9, 11.11, and 12.12 shoppin.

festivals, have made Shopee a well-known brand in Malaysia, offering significant
discounts, special offers, and fun activities.
Maybank, established in 1960 as the first Malaysian bank owned by local investors, has
since become a prominent Southeast Asian financial institution. The bank's mission, as
outlined in Maybank - Our Mission, is to enhance the quality of life for its customers,
employees, and communities. The bank's global expansion began in the 1980s and 1990s,
opening branches and subsidiaries in Southeast Asia, resulting in its growth as a major
regional financial institution.
Maybank's mission is to humanize financial services across Asia by being at the heart of
communities, understanding the needs of people and businesses, and fostering economic
growth and sustainability. The bank is dedicated to providing creative solutions,
developing top talent, and conducting business honestly and transparently.
Throughout its history, Maybank has diversified its business, expanding into new areas
such as Islamic finance, asset management, and insurance. As one of Malaysia's most
extensive and all-encompassing financial institutions and the wider Southeast Asian

region, Maybank is distinguished by its breadth and depth of product and service
offerings, satisfying a diverse range of customers' monetary requirements.
Establishing a strong brand requires cultivating credibility and trust through business
networking. Participating in a well-known and respected network can boost a company's

Furthermore, Shopee's seller outreach and onboarding process relies heavily on the
platform's business networking features, which allow the company to actively engage
with potential sellers and persuade them to list their products on Shopee. Shopee should
make an effort to expand its offline and online seller base. They are free to seek and
contact vendors that might stock items of interest to the platform's target market. These

marketing collaborations, such as partnerships with celebrities and influencers.
These partnerships have facilitated the expansion of brand exposure and the acquisition
of new users for the platform. This shift is reflected in Shopee's recent events aimed at
empowering influencers, such as Shopee House, a bimonthly gathering place for artists to
communicate, connect, and get to know one another, and Shopee Masterclass, an in-depth
training session for those who want to become successful on Shopee. Within this virtual
program, creators engage in sessions where they share their knowledge (ANNUAR,

secure online shopping experience for buyers. The Shopee Guarantee was introduced as
one of the measures the e-commerce platform has implemented to ensure the safety of its
customers. A feature that ensures the safety of its users by delaying the vendor's payment

until the customer confirms that they obtained their order. The payment is typically
processed after the customer selects "Order Received" or the Shopee Guarantee period

According to a recent survey performed by Shopee, 90% of Malaysians prefer using
Shopee for secure online shopping. This preference is indicated by a rating of 9 out of 10
on a satisfaction scale. Shopee has promoted this survey with the hashtag
#ShopSafeWithShopee. According to the report, 80% of Malaysians believe that Shopee
offers the most effective assistance in dealing with fraudulent activities during online
buying (Malaysia, 2023).

4.2 Maybank
Maybank's success in building relationships with other businesses is an integral feature
of the bank's approach to business networking. Working together, they identify the
specific financial issues impacting each organization. The bank can better develop and
provide individualized banking services, such as loans, working capital financing, trade

financing, and cash management through these connections. As a result of forming
strategic alliances to launch new goods and improve existing ones, Maybank Group's
business competitiveness has improved. For instance, the Maybank Group increased its

This partnership will likely be good for both sides, leading to the sharing of information,
the growth of talent, the fostering of new ideas, and economic growth. Prof. Dr. Mohd
Foad Sakdan, the university's top administrator, said, "In terms of talent development, the

success can be seen in Maybank's joint venture in the 2020 Bloomberg Gender-Equality

and expectations. Accessibility involves acquiring physical and mental assistance, while
reputation refers to the power of a business owner to influence others' choices based on
their skills. Expectations can make it easier or more challenging for a company to achieve
its goals. Strategic networking helps business owners determine their goals and objectives
by connecting with others. Entrepreneurs should assess their current situation and long-
term goals before diving into networking. Client-centered networking allows
entrepreneurs to share information without worrying about cost and time, attracting new
customers while maintaining existing ones.
Building a solid and respected brand requires developing credibility and trust through
business networking. Engaging in renowned and esteemed networks can enhance a
company's legitimacy among prospective consumers, partners, and investors. Belonging
to industry associations, professional organizations, or prominent networking groups can
showcase commitment to best practices and public display of those practices.
On the other hand, business networking allows businesses to connect with potential job
candidates who may not be actively seeking new employment but could be enticed by a
compelling offer. These applicants are typically highly skilled professionals with
extensive expertise and several years of experience who could provide substantial value
to the firm.
