Chapter 1 – Resolve

“it hurts… “ whispering to myself as my body covered in bruises, “Those bastards..”.

I am Henry Every and I’m currently 17 years old and was an orphan but I ran away from the
foster home that I was in. I work for a pirate named Francis Drake, He’s an egoistic pirate, he’s
weak in strength, only his crew was strong and all he ever cared about was money and fame.
I was carrying the loot that his crew was collecting from a town, while I was taking a break then
I purchased bread with the money I have left, I bought half of a long baguette since its all that I
could afford, the bread was enough to last till dinner. As I wrapped my remaining chunk of
bread for dinner, I overheard people talking about treasure that lies far from this island yet
nobody knows where this treasure is buried or placed.
“There’s treasure buried somewhere beyond this sea” the man said.
“It is said that whoever finds this treasure will be able to buy anything that he desires”.

I proceeded to do my work till afternoon, while I was carrying the last crate of goods, I
accidentally stumbled upon a man but his face was covered with cloth and he helped me pick
up the goods that fell on the ground. He quickly rushed as if someone was chasing him.
‘Be careful, kid'
‘Wait!!..’

I was not able to thank him. I paid no mind to the encounter and continued ahead with
transporting the last crate but things did not go well once I arrived at the ship.
‘Captain, here’s the last crate'
‘ Put it with the other crates over there at the corner'

I did as what the captain said, but things did not go well after. They took me to a dense area
and two of his men started to beat me up, I was confused on why they did it. I did nothing
wrong.
After beating me up till I could no longer stand, they left me to die alone in that place.
“those bastards…”
I stood up carefully then spat blood on the ground and carefully leaned myself against the wall.
After resting to ease the pain within my body, I stood up and walked outside of the alleyway
that I was left to rot only to realize they left me in the island that we looted resources from. As I
walked into the colorful streets covered in bruises, I remembered overhearing about a treasure,
I made my resolve proceeded to dash into the streets and into the market and stole as much
food as I could get and gathered them into a blanket that I found. I hid behind a house near the
docks and continued my night there.
I woke up late at night to a sound of a medium sized boat with a sail and a small cabin like area
at the back docking, I quickly gathered up the resources I stole and waited for the owner to
leave, Once he left, I rushed towards his old boat and luckily he didn’t tie the rope tightly and I
managed to set sail without any problems. Knowing that the man did not notice the
disappearance of his boat, I found an oar and paddled as hard as I can in order to get away from
the dock, reassurance came into me and head inside the small cabin and slept.
I woke up the next day only to find a girl staring on top of me while I slept, I got up quickly and
we bumped into each others heads.
‘OUCH!, Who are you, what are you doing in my boat?!’
‘Aagh, well technically its not your boat, it belongs to the old man.’
‘Well…I stole it so…its mine now’
‘Anyway, what are you doing in the boat with that old man?’
‘None of your business!.’
She sat in the front of the ship and stared at the sea, I was confused on how she even got into
the boat without the old man noticing, or where she even came from but all I know is I found
someone my age who’s also alone and surviving. I’ve also speculated that she ran away from
her home island like I once did before working for that bastard Francis.
Night came and the atmosphere was quite awkward, I tried asking her questions that was not
personal but even with that she still wont respond so I proceeded to do my business and stayed
quiet. After I was done, I went inside the boat and took the food that I stored up and ate
outside when I heard a growl, I quickly looked at the direction where it came from and it was
actually her stomach, she was still there quietly sitting in her space of the boat. I offered her
food but she refused, and yet again I heard the growl of her stomach.
‘Hey if you’re not going to eat then ill just feed these to the fish’
She quickly stood up and ate the food that I prepared for the both of us, She was quite hesitant
and shy of eating the food but at least now she ate. When I think the time was right, I asked her
about where she came from yet again, a momentary silence and after that she said.
‘I came from a city called I’Attoll de Tonerre…Everyone had peace and solitary, It was a perfect
place. I lived in the old small of the city, where dirt poor people lived and there weren’t many
people, I stayed in a small house alongside 7 children, 3 were girls including me and 4 were boys
with a young one who was 5 years old, they don’t have any idea who their parents were yet we
stood strong and continued to live on and dreamed to one day become an individual with a lot
of wealth’
‘haha…sounds delusional, right?’
‘Then what happened’
‘The people who governs the place decided to demolish the whole town to construct a new
building called a “Bank” and we were kicked out without giving us a newer place to live’
‘What is this “Bank” and is it that big?!’
‘ I don’t have a clue, but what they did is simply cruel, they treated us like outcasts and didn’t
even lend us help when we needed it’
She continued to tell her story and I was there listening to her, I thought she needed comfort
but I realized that I was not in that position to do so. After 2 months of them getting evicted
from the town they lived in, I was shocked after she told me a darker part of her story.
‘After two months, we fled into the woods to find another place and start a new life, but.. I
never knew that it’ll be the last time ill ever get to see them’
‘We were walking aimlessly to the depths of the forest but suddenly we were surrounded by a
group of bandits’
“Who are you?!”
‘None of them said a word and suddenly slaughtered us one by one, I saw every single second of
that horrific scene, and up until now I still cant forget it.’
‘I sprinted into the deeper parts of the forest shedding tears and after a while of running, I came
across a cabin with the old man and this boat and noticed that he was about to sail, I quietly
made my way into his boat and hid myself hoping that once I come out, ill be in a different
place’
I said in my mind “so she was like me.” With that kind of a story, I realized how life isn’t always
in our favor, it is but a cruel world overrunning with corrupted and vile individuals who’s only
purpose is to crave for power and fame. As she sat on the other end of the cloth, I stood up and
introduced myself.
‘ I’m Henry, a pirate.. want to become rich?’
She stared at me for a moment and giggled, it was as if I was being a child and calling myself a
pirate.
‘A pirate?, What sort of silly imagination is that?’
‘Hey I’m serious here!.. I am a pirate!’
‘Hahaha… I’m Charlotte, and by the looks of it we are the same age’
After introducing herself, she stood up and offered to shake my hand, I shook my hand and
looked at her, she suddenly smiled and I too smiled back, we both agreed to become pirates
and to obtain the treasure that we’ll soon make us the wealthiest people in the world. Both of
us decided to sleep since it was already midnight, I told her that ill be sleeping outside and
she’ll take the inside.
I woke up the next morning surprised that she suddenly disappeared. I became confused since
it just witnessed her heading inside the boat and we are in the middle of the sea. I searched
inside to see if there are any stolen items, but surprisingly none was missing.
‘where the hell is that girl?”
Chapter 2 – New life

Confusion mixed with disappointment ran into me as I thought I finally found my first crew
member, “What a pain” I said. A few minutes have gone by and I decided to continue my way
on finding a new island when a sudden noise arose from the left side of the boat, I took a peak
of it and then Charlotte suddenly appeared, I took a step back in shock and she said “ hoist me
up” I lifted her up and said.
‘You scared the life out of me, but I never knew you’re good at swimming’
‘I picked up a few skills back then’
‘I see’
‘Also, I found a ghost ship on a small island while I was venturing the area, it doesn’t seem to
inhabited by creatures’
‘We’re in the middle of the after all, of course there wouldn’t be anything there…I hope’
We quickly set up our ship and headed to the ship that she mentioned. After almost an hour of
steering we finally made it to the small island, “How are you able to swim this far?” I said, “I
told you, I picked up a few skills along the way” she replied, I was starting to think that she
might be a monster who took a form of a girl. We walked towards the direction of the ship and
after a few minutes we finally arrived, I was amazed by how the ship was bigger than hours. We
entered the ship and found old items that seemed to belong to somebody. We scavenged the
inside and outside of the ship to find anything that we can find convenient for our travels.
While we we’re finishing our looting session, A young boy suddenly appeared out of nowhere
and is wearing an old pirate coat along with two more younger children which seems to be his
crew.
‘Who dares to step into my territory, Only fools will ever try to steal my treasure’ The boy said.
‘Your foolishness will lead to your demise!’ The young girl said.
‘hm!’ The young boy replied.
‘My name is Captain Roger Williams, and you shall be my hostages!, Show me where your ship
is located and I shall free you from my hands!’
‘You sound like pirates from children’s books’ Charlotte replied
‘Is that your opinion towards me?, Then I shall show you what no pirate from children’s tales
can do. YOU!’
He proceeded to point at me and I said
‘Ill take you on a duel, If you win then I shall step down from the position of captain and I shall
hand you over my crew, if I win, you leave without anything left on your boat. This is a one time
match, so whoever loses. Faces the price'
I began to hesitate as the price of losing is having to sail without any resources and die, where
as to winning would add brand new members of my crew. I looked at Charlotte and she looks
uneasy of the challenge that this kid has put up, but I took the risk anyway.
‘Fine!’
‘Poor choice, Then I shall grant you your fate’
He handed me a wooden sword and we proceeded to take our stance, Charlotte placed herself
in the middle to count down and start the fight. She finally counted down to one and we
started our duel. I took the first swing and he immediately countered it with his sword, I
continuously swing my sword hoping ill be able to knock him down and find a weak point, but
he doesn’t seem to be having one, after my final slash he countered it and he dismembered me
and my sword.
‘Looks like ill be taking your possessions’
I grinned and told him ‘But you told no rules’. I tackled him and he fell and I immediately picked
up my sword and drew it towards his face.
‘I…see’
‘Ill be taking your crew in and treat them as my own’
He laid on the floor silent and I immediately took his crew members. The little boy cried and ran
towards his ex Captain.
‘W-why di you lose, Big brother, I-I thought you never lose!’
‘I apologize, Marco, but I have to do this, so that I shall never see you both starve.’
‘No!, I don’t care if I starve, I don’t want to get separated with you!’ Marco replied.
‘Marco!, You know we can barely find any food in this island and its unbearable to see you both
slowly turning into skin and bones.’ Replies in an angry manner.

The way the big brother made such rules in the duel made me realize he’s only doing it to feed
his siblings. Unable to see such a sight, I made a decision to include Roger in my crew.
‘Ill let you join my crew, well if you want..’
He looked at me with surprise and then tears went down his cheeks, He looked happy but at
the same time quite disappointed on himself for losing a match.
‘I accept your offer, I’ll also train in our journey, and I swear I will protect you, Captain.’
‘ Very well… Now then, Lets go?’
Then we headed to our ship, seeing the siblings happy that they get to be with each other made
me smile, Charlotte looked at me and giggled.
‘ So where to now, Captain?’
‘We celebrate with our new crew members in our ship!’

We arrived at the ship and we celebrated with the new members of the growing crew. While
Roger and I searching for fish for our little feast, Charlotte approached the two siblings.
‘Hello there, have you made yourself comfortable yet?, We’re sorry for having a ship that’s
quite small, I’m Charlotte by the way.’
‘ I’m Maria Williams, nice to meet you!, And this is Marco Williams.’
‘ You both must be hungry, here have some bread and jam, we have booze but were still
children so we cant drink any yet.’
‘Thank you big sister!. Marco here’s bread’
(Charlotte inner thoughts)
(I wonder how long have they been on that island, judging by their current state, it seems that
the island doesn’t contain that much resources for survival)
‘How long have you guys been on the island?’
‘We don’t know…'
‘Care to tell me where you guys came from, you don’t have to tell me if it involves some
personal things.’
‘We came from a small island called, La Ignasio, we were the ones who leaded the island to a
better one, My father, the ruler of the island was a kind man, he lends aid to those who need it.
One day we came across a person form the world government, He asked my father to give up a
so called artifact, we were confused of what it is but my father refused to give it up.’
‘After continuous arguments, the man raised a gun and shot my father in the head, my mother
was right behind us and told us to flee in the back where the ship was, my little brother cried as
he begged mother to come with us.’
‘ Big brother then took us and made a run and exited through the backdoor, while we we’re
running to the dock, I looked back and saw my mother waving at us and then she was shot at
the back of her head. I wanted to run towards her direction but my brother quickly grabbed me
in order to escape. We got into the boat without any specific directions on where to go, we
continued to sail until the island we can no longer see the island we once lived peacefully on, we
met up with countless storms until we made it to the island we lived, we were slowly running
out of food since big brother wasn’t really able to find any fishes for us to eat.’
‘When we met you guys, we thought we had hope of survival and we did and I want to thank
both of you guys and because of our encounter, we actually have hope on living!’
‘It was our Captains decision to investigate the island.’
‘Hey, both of you, can you lend us a hand getting on the boat please?’
‘Coming!’
Later on after we’ve caught enough fish for our little celebration, a pirate ship with a crew of
five came up in front of our ship, their boat was quite larger than ours, it seemed to have a
room that’s bigger than what we have and because of that, me and roger came up with the
idea of raiding it, with rogers swordsmanship and my self taught skills, we can easily beat them.
I ordered Charlotte to hide along with the other two inside the small cabin area on the boat.
Three of their crewmen went ahead and sat foot on our ship, roger and i immediately engaged
and threw them at sea.
‘Tch, you’re all pathetic, cant even handle children.’ The captain said.
‘Then come and take us on yourself.’ I replied.
‘Well then.’ He replied and jump onto our ship. ‘Come at me with that confidence you have.’
He drew his sword and decided to attack first without ever thinking of a way to engage. He
swung his blade and roger countered it, he then swayed his sword against the captain and
made his blade fly into the water, with that, I took the opportunity to strike him on his stomach
and below his chin. He fell down and roger aimed the tip on his sword into the throat of the
captain.
‘Luck may have been on your sid-‘
‘Its not luck but synergy, and teamwork’ I replied. ' Now flee and we’ll take your ship as our
own’
‘I refuse.’ He replied.
‘ Roger, slit his throat.’
‘ Yes captain' Roger replied.
Fearing death, he decided to hand over his ship and as well as his valuables.
Later on they’re crew swam towards the island where we found roger and his siblings. After a
while, I told Charlotte to come out.
‘ Look, our new ship!’
‘ Woah, Nice one captain!’ Charlotte replied.
‘Nice one captain!’ And Maria also replied.
With the new ship obtained and as well as a new and bigger living space and items, we loaded
our stuff into our new ship and continued ahead while celebrating.

Chapter 3.5 – Pirate Flag

A few weeks has gone by and it seemed as if there is something missing, it felt like one last
piece of a jigsaw puzzle was misplaced, I decided to look around and see what made me get
those kinds of feeling. I walked up to Charlotte and told her the feeling I got and she replied.
‘You know I also got the same feeling, I wonder what caused this.’
We continued to search through and find out what was causing this.
We searched through the inside of the ship hoping to find lost items and such and encountered
Maria making a pirate flag, she seemed to be good at drawing as well as painting it, We
approached her and she actually decided to make one for our crew.
‘It’s looking great!’. I said.
‘I had this odd feeling, and looked up and found the pirate flag was not really pleasing, so I
decided to make one that fits for us.’ She replied.
Both me and Charlotte looked into each other and realized the pirate flag is the one that made
us get this feeling. Soon after the flag was designed, we immediately made and hung up our
own pirate flag.
‘This pirate flag resembles our pride, we must not let it get stained or get taken away!’.
Chapter 3 –

I was starting to wonder which island to go next to start our adventure, in order to find the next
island, we have to get a navigator; however we do not know where to find one. This concerned
feeling of whether we’ll be able to find a navigator really bugs me out.
I was spacing out too much when I noticed dark clouds starting to form, fog was starting to
appear.
‘Captain!, I see thick fog ahead us!’ Roger shouted.
‘I see it too!.’ I replied.
We approached the foggy area and as we got deeper, I noticed an orange light up ahead and as
we go deeper it was also getting closer.
I decided to get the ship closer to investigate what might be causing this light. The closer we got
the more we hear the sound of screaming. It came to the point that our ship was a little close to
it, we took a closer look and saw that it was actually a burning ship, perhaps a pirate ship or a
carrier. The horrifying screams got closer and louder. Suddenly someone leaped towards our
ship; however he landed in the sea, both me and roger decided to check out weather it was a
dead body or not but it managed to swim towards our ship. The person then thanked us for
helping him but before he even introduces himself he decided to tell us to hurry and leave the
area immediately and so we did.
Knowing the mysterious burning ship was out of sight of the fog, he introduced himself as Nico,
an archeologist who wants to uncover history, and apparently on his way to search for an
ancient city.
‘ An ancient city?’ Charlotte asked.
‘Yes.’
Apparently, there lived an ancient civilization that once roamed the earth, those people were
the first humans to have roamed the earth. I have always thought we used to be monkeys.
‘ We aren’t really looking for an archeologist. But rather a navigator.’ I said.
‘ I am also a navigator.’ He replied.
I was surprised that he said that he was also a navigator, since that’s the guy I want to join my
crew. He said he gained navigation skills through traveling alone for Three years. I was intrigued
of his dedication on finding this Lost Civilization. After a while of chatting, we managed to get
out of the thick foggy area. He stood up and started to take out a compass on his bag, he also
brought out a wet paper which looked like a map.
‘We are currently in Niebla de la Vista Perdida.’
‘The fog of the lost sight..’ I replied.
Apparently this fog was thicker than smoke and where sailors or giant boats lose their tracks on
their destinations, We were lucky enough to pass by quickly since the fog wasn’t that thick
these times. He immediately went and tried to trace our exact location and tried to find an
island that of which well harbor on.
‘ Because of the Nieblas appearance, I managed to find where we are and where we are about
to head.’ He said.
‘ I see, you seem to be a reliable Navigator, Nico.’ I replied.
I asked him if he would be willing to join my crew, and he accepted it.
After a while of Navigating he immediately told us our destination.
‘ We are currently heading to Los Picados.’ He said.
‘ The city of fencing?.’ Roger replied
Roger seemed to know this city well. Apparently this city is where the strongest fencers reside,
he used to get fencing lessons every year for Three months, before the incident of his parents
happened.
Roger explained that the island is full professional fencers; although the country lived in
poverty, most of the fencers gets job offers as bodyguards for rich people and some even use
them for their own benefits, like duels for cash and as hired assassinators. They were doing
good at their job in order to survive from poverty.
‘ Alright, its decided then…Los Picados here we come!.’
There, starts our pirate journey.
After Three days of sailing, we managed to arrive at the island of fencers and it was quite a
ruined place, the houses were made of old bricks and the outer area was ruined and destroyed
by something, or perhaps it collapsed due to it not being lived in anymore. The conditions were
manageable but there were still starving children roaming the streets as well as animals.
We searched for the nearest place to stay in so that we could explore the place for a while. We
managed to find an old place and is run by a young woman which seemed to be 20 years of age.
We asked for a room to stay in and paid for a cheaper price due to the living conditions of the
rooms. After settling in I asked them that I would go for a little stroll to at least get a little
knowledge of the area.
While I was walking in a dense area where no people were seen, I noticed a silhouette of what
seems like a little girl walking slowly towards my direction. I called out and tried to ask what
was ahead but I received no answer. The child seemed to be exhausted by the way she walked
and with the curiosity I had I approached her, as I got closer I noticed she was weakening,
malnourished, and was about to pass out, I immediately rushed as she was starting to fall and
quickly headed back while I was carrying her at my back.
A few hours have passed after she was treated, the little girl regained consciousness and
Charlotte immediately brought out the food we had left, she grabbed a piece of the bread and
took a large bite out of it. We asked what was her name and what lead to her current situation.
She replied.
‘ I ran away from the owner that bought me and my father.’
‘ Ran away?.’ I replied.
She told her situation to us. Her name was Theresa, and apparently her father was a hired
bodyguard for a rich family. The family was kind at first but it suddenly got twisted when she
saw one of the bodyguards getting mangled and was “offered” to the devils. The horrible sight
led her to flee without her fathers knowledge. She wandered around the dead area not
knowing where to go for Four Weeks, until I found her. She said
‘ I want to go back for my father, I don’t want him to be offered to the devils.’
‘ No you are not going, you might endanger yourself.’ Charlotte replied.
The girl started to cry as she was worried of her fathers safety, with the little thought I have, I
decided that I want to help her.
‘ Well, You wouldn’t want to lose your only family.’
‘Its decided then.’ Roger replied.
Before heading of, we asked for a description of her father and the Family’s head, as well as the
directions to the house. The entire city is divided into areas by borders, the outer is filled with
the people living in poverty, the middle section is where the richer class people and are often
the ones who hire the fencers whom lived in the outer area as bodyguards and finally the
middle section where the government holds the power over the city. The city we are currently
in is much wider than the others, majority of the citys population is poor because of the
corruption of the government. We carefully planned our infiltration. We made our decision and
took Roger, Nico, Charlotte and Me, we left Maria and Marco along with Theresa at the place
we stayed in and ordered them to await our return.
After an hour of traveling in the route that was given to us, we finally found the border that
divides this place from the other. The border was made of steel bars and has little gaps in it, The
gate is not that heavily guarded, multiple carriages were entering and we decided to sneak in
one and make our way to finding the house. As soon as we were far from the gates, we
immediately came out and took a hacksaw that we found and hid in the small alleyways. We
recalled our plan of infiltration and took off without making any suspicious movements and as
we reached the end of the alleyway, we were mesmerized by the sight of large well built
houses and industries that store expensive products and people walking in fashionable clothing.
I was affronted knowing that these people are enjoying their lives and completely ignoring the
people who needs help beyond the borders.
‘These people disgusts me.’ Nico said in an annoyed manner.
‘It is as if the poor never existed.’ Charlotte replied.
We continued for our search and eventually found the house. The house seemed different from
the others, its design seemed foreign. We were met with two armed guards on its front gate
and seemed to be patrolling around the house. We yet again hid in another alleyway in order to
start our infiltration.
‘The design of the house cane from the middle east.’ Nico pointed out.
‘If it’s the middle east, why do they worship demons?.’ I replied.
Nico then replied without any clue of why. Charlotte stood up and asked for my orders to
engage.
‘It has been a while since I moved a lot.’ Charlotte said.
I was confused of what she meant by this and decided that she would engage when the time is
correct. As soon as one guard left for patrol, I immediately told her to eliminate the guard. I
asked roger to watch out for incoming guards or anyone who find us suspicious. As Charlotte
approaches the guard, the guard immediately reacted and Charlotte easily took out the guard
without effort. She immediately signaled us to come. We went to the right side of the house to
hide ourselves and for us to find an entrance that we could use. We found an unlocked window
leading to a library and one by one we went inside. We searched the area for any items that
might be convenient for our rescue. I ordered Roger to check for people that might enter this
room, and after a while of searching, we proceeded to quietly exit the library and search for
Theresa’s father.
We decided to part ways to make our search easier, Each of us took different rooms and
hallways. After minutes of searching, I am having suspicions on why the rooms and hallways are
empty. I decided to find the others and meet up with them and they also noticed that the
rooms were empty as well as the halls. We decided to check up on the basements since that
would be the typical place of worshipping demons. We looked for the basement entrance and
seemed to have no luck on finding one whatsoever. As we are walking in the halls towards the
exit hoping to find out luck outside, we were met up by an ambush in the main hall along with
guards and the owner himself Ambatuh Kahn.
‘It seems like my suspicions was right.’ He said.
‘My name is Ambatuh Kahn, What brings you children to roam the halls of my household?.’
We later on replied of the purpose of our infiltration, but not the full details of our actual plan.
We historically laughed and said.
‘So that was it?, Saving the father of that child?, You could’ve just asked nicely.’ He replied.
He immediately asked the guards to bring Theresa’s father to us. We were shocked by how
bruised up and unconscious Theresa’s father was.
‘I was about to offer him to my god, oh well, ill just use random civilians passing by. You can
take him if you want.’
Roger and Charlotte immediately took the father and Kahn’s guards made a way for us to exit
the place. Before reaching the door, Kahn said something to Nico.
‘You are making a mistake Valenzuela.’
We immediately made it out the place and looked at Nico with a displeased face. I did not
bother asking anything who was Valenzuela and why Kahn said that this Valenzuela made a
mistake on something. After hours of traveling back to the house we stayed, we immediately
treated Theresa’s injured father and as we were treating him, Theresa immediately cried as she
was affected by the sight of her injured father. Later on she thanked us for helping find and
rescue her father.
I went outside to get some fresh air and Charlotte followed. We were talking about some things
and asked her why she knew martial arts. She told me with the same reply as she did back then.
“I told you, I know a few skills.”
“I see.” I replied.
As we go on with our conversation, she immediately looked at a person that of which seemed
familiar to her. She immediately ran towards the direction of the person and then she
disappeared without a trace.
Chapter 4 – Li

(Charlotte POV)

I immediately chased her as she might have lost sight of the person she was onto, but
I ran as fast as I could to confirm whether its someone I know or not. I kept running and panting
and tried to catch up to her as quick as possible, but I lost sight of her. Part of me wants to keep
looking while the other wants to give up and walk back.
As I was about to head back, something tingled inside me and thought I should look behind and
a girl dressed in a Cheongsams was plunging to my direction aiming her leg as if she wanted to
land a kick, I immediately dodged it and a soon as she landed on the ground, the floor cracked
leaving a hole, I was shocked and terrified, If I had took that hit I would’ve been killed. She
stood up and said.
“It has been a while, Sister.”
“What is your goal, Yan.” I replied.
“That is for you to find out after I beat you.” She continued.
Knowing I had no other choice but to fight, I took a stance and she did the same. She then
dashed and aimed for a kick on my face but I blocked it. My palms were numb after receiving
that very heavy blow. I grabbed her leg and locked it between my arms and attempted a punch
on her face. I failed as soon as my fist was near her she immediately dodged it, with her other
leg free, she kicked me back to free herself.
“You have become dull.” She said.
My body was in severe pain after receiving such heavy blows. I stood up in pain, and without
me noticing, she got behind me and was about to land another blow to my stomach. Roger
then appeared out of nowhere. As he draws his sword he said.
“I am not into butting in on family affairs.”
“Prepare yourself brat.” Yan replied.

(Roger POV)
Knowing I have no match of this lady, She looks identical to Charlotte but is much stronger. I
decided I would buy time for Charlotte to escape. Locking at each others eyes, she made her
first move by slamming her leg attempting to take me out from the head. I immediately dodged
it and as soon as she landed I slashed her on the side and I managed to wound her arm. It
surprised her that I managed to inflict a wound on her. She tried throwing a punch but failed as
I managed to avoid it. With my current level of swordsmanship, Perhaps ill manage as long as I
keep my distance from her.
I realized going offensive wont give any advantages so trying to land a slash when I had a
chance would give me an upper hand. She picked out a long metallic stick and made her stance,
I continued to keep my guard up as soon as she drew the long stick and tried my best not to
show any openings but it got worse as soon as she engaged me, her movements became
sharper and every slash I deal she always blocks it without any mistake. I took a short look at
Charlotte direction and as soon as I noticed her gone I immediately retreated. Due to my
overwhelming disadvantage I took no second thought of fleeing instead of risking my life from a
one sided fight.
I ran as fast as I could hoping to no longer see the person on sight. It pained me having to
cowardly back away and flee from a fight but having to engage in an uneven match and having
low level of power against a person that seemed to have trained the entirety of her life, its
simply a suicidal match.
As soon as I arrived at the place were staying, it relived me to see Charlotte still fine. I quickly
reported to Captain Henry about an attacker that pursued Charlotte. He decided he wants to
leave the island as soon possible for we are no match to such opponent.
The next day we planned out a route to take to a new island that we would comfortably settle
in. We boarded our ship and before we raised our anchor, the girl suddenly appeared and
stated.
“I have come to take you in fathers order, but it would seem that you chose this route of life, ill
have you make the decision of returning or staying. You are next in line of the thrown, Li Fu
Xuan.”
“I thought father has chosen you, and I simply supported you and ran away.”
“It is the emperors decision to choose the next heir and realized I was not fit for it.”
“I see.”
“We will be waiting, Sister.”
The woman immediately left and left us alone. We were confused as to why she called
Charlotte that name, or is “Charlotte” even her real name. As soon as we sailed, Charlotte or Li
Fu Xuan immediately told us about the truth of her identity.
Apparently she was one of the daughters of The emperor of Hou Yi, A land that’s far from this
one. She’s the Twin of Yan Fu Xuan, The girl we ran into earlier. They were inseparable and
were really close, but due to the strict laws, they were forced to become rivals. Both of them go
through training to the extreme, day and night of horrendous combat training to become
skilled warriors to protect the Palace. They also study languages and literature, as well as
understanding human emotions in an accurate way. They also train perfect assassinations and
executions. These kinds of knowledge imbed in such a young age must be really rough to
handle, but these kinds of training and studying, the emperor is turning them into perfect
combat machines.
Due to the superiority of both intelligence and skill, Yan Fu Xuan was picked as the next heir of
the throne as Empress. Li Fu Xuan supported her sister as the next empress although; she felt
overwhelming inferiority and decided to run as she might get in the way of her sister. She
decided to run away and conceal her identity and took the name of Charlotte. She told us lies
about her past and joined the crew to further run away and forget about her past. Why would
she run away from such a reason?.
“Why did the emperor suddenly made changes and made you the next empress?.” Nico asked.
“I… do not know, I don’t want to become empress and after encountering such good people like
you, I decided I want to be free.”
Captain Henry then asked her why she wasted the opportunity to rule a kingdom and instead
chose to become a pirate for a crew that does not have a reputation. She replied that she has
been thinking of freeing herself from excruciating training before and wants to travel from
places to places and discover opportunities to start a new life away from her fathers command
and trainings. She also believed that her sister is much more worthy to take the position due to
her intelligence and dedication of becoming a leader to a country. Captain Henry then
continued.

“Very well, let us head to Hou Yi and convince your father.”

“But it is dangerous, you all might get held captive.” Li Replied
“Since when did I hire a navigator and a swordsman to a crew that only dreams to become
pirates?.” Captain then replied.
Charlotte is filled with worries of what might happen to us later with the decision the captain
made, even I know that the risks of this mission is far more worse than we could ever imagine.
“The captain’s orders must be followed, it is but a selfless decision for him.” I said.”
“Don’t regret the route you took now.” Captain said to Li.
We know very well that it’s a suicide mission, but the Captain made his choice of helping a
fellow crew. As captain he must grant his crews desires and drive them to a new and better life.
Nico immediately took out his equipment and planned a route we will be taking and from here,
we are off to Hou Yi the land of great integrity and wealth.
Chapter 5 – Freedom
As we boarded our ship, the sister of Li appeared out of nowhere telling us she will be the next
heir as empress of Hou Yi and later on left. Li was surprised and confused on why she was
suddenly chosen to rule their kingdom when the time comes. She told us her story and
revealing her reasons for vanishing from their place and to free herself from the pressure of
training and studying. I made a decision of convincing the emperor of letting us keep her
daughter and let her be free to make her own choices in life. Everybody seemed to agree of the
plan however; it would only open us to dangerous risks and the worse case, Death. I know very
well that this mission is going to get me or all of us dead, but I cant simply leave one of my crew
members alone. I proceeded to come up with counterarguments and tried my best on trying to
earn the Emperors trust. Nico later on gave me details on our next route to an island however;
we will continue our journey without any long stops and instead, we will gather supplies and
head to the next route immediately. It is already speculated by Nico that we will be arriving
within Two Months of traveling. We will be training ourselves for the entire duration of the
month in order to prepare ourselves of unexpected combat.

Two Months Later –

“Captain!, I can see land ahead!.”

“I see, Prepare for whatever is waiting for us ahead.” I replied.
Two months has passed by and finally arrived at Hou Yi. Wondering what is ahead, we prepared
for the things that might await us on the docks of the land.
After arriving, we left Marco and Maria on the boat to guard it. We were met with multiple well
armed guards and escorted us to the entrance of the palace, from there Yan Fu Xuan escorted
us to the inside of the palace and to the room of the emperor. Li had the feeling of unease even
though this was her home. We made it to the front of the palace itself and it was stunning, it
was (very tall) and its design seemed to be captivating, the inside was better. Wide spaces and
expensive furniture and items, filled with bodyguards every corner of the house. We were later
on brought to the room where the emperor is sitting, as soon as we were settled in the room.
The emperor said.

“You have returned Li.”

“Father.” And proceeds to bow down.
“I can see that you already know the reason on why I asked for your return.”
“But I also have a reason on why I decline it.” Li replied.
“I see, instead of being the next person in our bloodline, you chose to become a lowly pirate?,
Are you sane?.”
“I want freedom father.” Replied Li.
“Freedom?, From what?, What kind of treatment made you think you’re being imprisoned?.
All I ever did was raise the perfect ruler after I disappear from this world and I can see you fitting
it.”
“Excruciating training, Father, I have always wanted to be free, always wondering what its like
to live a normal life as a child and always longing to go outside and play, but you have given
me…no, us that kind of life.”
The emperor went on a sigh and looked at us for a second, he then approached the window
and looked at the sky. He then looked at us again.
“I do not want you to end the same fate as your mother. Never again I want to experience
losing an individual significant to me.”
Li then looked with a surprise and was not able to speak any word.
The Emperor then told the story of their mother, and how she lost her life during an incident.
Apparently their mother was a commoner, living life with only herself, and the emperor at the
time was still the same age as us, he always goes to the town where their mother resides. He
always looks for her and secretly watches her from afar. He saw how kind of a woman she was
and always looks for her whenever he has the opportunity. At times he also brings gifts for her.
He then had the confidence to ask her to be his wife, she was surprised and took time to agree,
but she eventually did. After Five Years, his father, the previous emperor fell ill and died a few
days later, he was later on appointed as the new emperor and eventually had kids with his wife.
Then the incident that of which shifted the entire kingdom of Hou Yi. The night of labor came,
The emperor and the guards had to wait outside and only the midwife and her assistant is
inside. The labor went well and Two healthy twins were brought to the world, but in a sudden
moment a dark cloaked man appeared from within the dark, And brutally murdered the
midwife along with the Emperors wife and left the children. The emperor later on was confused
on how the midwife was taking so long to report, he went in only to discover his wife’s cold
dead body covering the crying children with her arms as well as the midwife’s body laying
covered in blood and a deep stab wound in the abdomen. The emperor fell in shock witnessing
his wife lifeless in his arms. He picked up his twins with sadness and relief. Immediately the
emperor declared to the guards to heavily guard the palace and build a wall separating the
kingdom and its people from any possible danger from the outside. He later on decided when
his children grow, both of them will go on horrendous trainings and combat in order to make
them stronger to protect the kingdom, and themselves because he fears that his daughters
might suffer the same fate as his beloved wife.
Li fell into silence as she realized how those endless days of combat was for her own benefit.
We also kept quiet for the whole time. The emperor later on ordered their guards to arrest us
for abduction of his daughter. We were surprised by the suddenly declaration of arrest on us
even though we never done anything that relates to abduction. Li begged to her father to
release them and she will stay. His father paid no attention to her. We were escorted to our cell
and is heavily guarded with well armed soldiers, we were given enough food and there we were
left to sleep for Seven Days and then release us without Li coming with us. When evening
arrived, a sudden noise of what seemed to be guards suffering a blow on their body. A visitor
came dressed with dark clothing and handed us the key to the cell, it then told us to open the
cell within Three Days, and in the night of the third day, we will open our cell and head to the
room of Li and abduct her. It told us the details and schedules of the emperor and on the third
day from to day he will go on a visit to the next nation for a war prevention meeting. Due to the
emperor’s absence, the palace will be heavily guarded with heavily armed soldiers. We were
then left to plan the actual infiltration ourselves. Roger asked if he could deal the twin of Li and
I permitted him to do so. Me and Nico will be the one to take Li from her room.
Three days have passed since and we waited for the night to arrive. We immediately opened
the cell and took out the guards that guarded our cells and exited through the backdoor of the
prison house. We carefully made our way to the palace and took out unsuspecting guards and
infiltrated the area.
Roger waited for the twin of Li outside as he knew she might come and check up on the palace
from the out.
We made our way to the room and told Li of our escape. She was then surprised and told us we
were making a mistake and that her father was never going on any kind of errands. Li then told
us to hurry and escape but we abducted her and as soon as we left the room, guards had
surrounded us with no such openings.
“It was a set-up.” Nico said.
“So that person made us do this in order to actually prove that we were abducting Li, a sly
bastard.” I replied.

Roger POV
The only thing that fills my mind, is how I am going to defeat the twin of Li, in hopes that the
training that we did for Two Months would give me a little advantage. In a sudden moment Yan
Fu Xuan appeared within my sight.
“I have been waiting for a rematch and this time, you are not running away.”
“Likewise.” I replied.
She then brought a sword that looked much sharper than this sword that I found on that
abandoned boat that we used to live. We took our stances and we clashed, it is as if we were a
match at swordsmanship but, I will never let myself get outclassed. It took a minute of clashing
before both of our swords got thrown off and we were left with only our bare hands.
“Unfortunate ending for you, the fight is now in my favor.” She said.
“Sword or without a sword, losing to a worthy opponent will leave a scar.” I replied.
Incase I lose in a sword clash, I specifically trained my body for an Entire Day and trained for fist
combats especially for this night.
I took my stance and she took hers. She attempted to land a kick in my left side but I avoided it
and grabbed her leg, pulled her and attempted to punch her in the stomach, she managed to
grab my fist as soon as it got close. We took a step back and I jumped and plunged to her
direction intending to kick her from the head, she avoided it and managed to kick from the left.
After minutes upon minutes of trying to keep up on her movements, I started to become dull
and started to pant. Her movements on the other hand started to become quicker and sharper.
We suffered bruises and eventually I was pinned down and unable to continue fighting, she
dashed to my direction attempted to land a final blow and knock me out, but she stood there,
her fist lowered and asked a question.
“Has…Li enjoyed her travels with you?.”
I was left confused on why she didn’t knock me out and asked a question. I answered her with.
“I could only tell you of what I witnessed, but not how she felt during her times with us.”
“I see.” She replied.
She helped me up and asks the purpose of our infiltration. I told her the reason and she
understood it. It turns out, she was also longing to be freed and travel, the same desire as her
twin. She decided to control herself and her desires and chose to protect the kingdom. She then
asked the whereabouts of Captain and she told me that she would help us. We eventually got
there and was met with multiple guards surrounding them.
Yan ordered the guards to stand down but no listened and instead engaged as if they were
controlled by someone. A sudden appearance of a masked man in a dark outfit.
“Henry Every, we finally met.” The man said.
The captain was then shocked that someone knew his name even though we were pirates with
no reputations. Captain then replied with.
“How did you know my name?.”
“You’ve made a name for yourself child. The pirate captain who killed a government official in
Los Picados.”
We were confused as to why he made that statement of Captain murdering a government
official, we were just released after taking back the father of the child we helped.
“I never knew you would take on another devious act and abduct the next empress of Hou Yi,
How low have you gotten.” He said in a sarcastic manner.
Yan suddenly intruded in their conversation and asked what he did with the guards. He said
that in their current state, they are “puppets”, we were confused as how he controlled them.
He then ordered the guards to eliminate us and we fought back. We immediately were able to
take out the guards with the help of Yan. He was impressed of how we were able to eliminate
the guards, he then later on brought the Emperor and seemed like he was being manipulated.
With such a sight, Yan fell into anger and proceeds on attempting to land a blow on the
Anonymous Man but the Emperor was getting into her way which prevents Yan on getting close
to him. A sudden noise of approaching guards and later on the Man went and escaped, which
angered Yan even more. Li exited her room and suddenly tried to attack us, we were confused
of her suddenly going against us. Yan told us to handle the emperor, and she will handle her
sister. We then restrained the emperor which he eventually calmed down and went back to
himself.
Li clashed with her sister and they seemed to have equal strength, she was much more agile
than the last time they clashed.
Yan was starting to weaken; but Li was getting faster, Yan was eventually downed and Li was
about to finish her. As soon as Li was about to strike Yan, Captain Henry dashed to the scene as
fast as he can and was able to stop Li’s fist from striking a powerful blow on Yan. Li suddenly
came to her senses and quickly stood up and was confused of how she was suddenly on top of
her sister. We explained to Li and the Emperor they were controlled, they were confused of
how they were controlled; however it remains a mystery. Yan stood up and approached her
and Li was quite embarrassed, she apologized but Yan said.
“It is me who needs to apologize sister, I tried to attack you, but I was not able to stop you. I
tried to knock you unconscious in order to bring you into a more isolated place so that the Man
wont find you.”
“So he was after me?, but why did you ask me to go back to Hou Yi?, and is me being the next
heir true?.” Li asked
“Me alone wont be a match to that mans strength; and the swordsman in your crew seemed
strong, so I told you to come back, and you being the next heir is also true. That’s the reason he
came after you and to eliminate you.”
We were surprised that her sister knew so much but kept quiet about it. She was able to make
a decision of luring us here to ask for our aid to get rid of the man. We asked what was the
objective of the man; but Yan was not able to discover it, only his current plan that Yan was
able to know.
Later on the Emperor apologized and gave us his gratitude, but there was still a request that Li
has to ask to her father directly. She asked if she could be a pirate and roam the world and
make her own decisions in life. Her father replied.
“Very well. Be free and never forget, that I will always support you.”
Li embraced her father warmly and left without saying a word. Yan quickly called Li and hugged
her tightly and never said a word.
We made it out of the palace and went back to the ship. The my siblings were worried sick and
was crying because they thought we were never coming back for them. Li looked at Captain
Henry and thanked him and everyone else for coming along and helping them resolve their
kingdoms crisis and also being there when she convinced her father. Captain Henry
enthusiastically told Nico our next destination and from there; We set off the seas hoping to
find what Captain Henry seeks from the moment we sat foot on his ship.

Chapter 6
After the events of Hou Yi, we traveled for three month to continued our journey on finding this
rumored treasure. I was also curious of how I was suddenly recognized by the Masked Man.
After hours of travels we reached an island to purchase food and supplies for our next travel.
After docking, we decided to split up so that each of us can search for whatever items we can
find convenient. I decided to head for the store that sells medicine and purchase food along the
way. As I was searching for the store, I noticed a wanted poster and what contained the image
struck me. It was a wanted poster of me with about a million bounty.
“A million bounty?.” I said in a surprise manner.
I did not expect that I would become a criminal even though I never defeated or murdered a
powerful man; but then I remembered the Man from Hou Yi saying that I killed someone from
Los Picados. I quickly tore the poster and went back to the ship. As soon as I arrived; Li and the
others were already there and told be about the wanted posters displayed all over the town. I
quickly told them to abandon our shopping and disembark immediately to avoid casualties on
the island.
“I am currently a wanted person, from here on; We will be careful of our actions.” I said.
We decided to head for an uninhabited island to gather food and herbs since heading into
another island with people will only endanger us. As dusk followed, We made it into a vast
jungle and decided to spend the night there and by the morning we will gather fresh fruits and
herbs to add into our necessary supplies.
The next day, we made our search and found a lot of fruits and also herbs We also searched for
what we might find useful that are lying around the island. As we are about to head back, a
man with a robe and a sword passed by. Roger was intimidated by him but he chose to calm
down. The man seemed to be dangerous so we kept our distance and hurried to the ship.
As we arrive to the ship; beyond the waters were large pirate vessels that seemed to be
heading this way. We drew back to a far place but we were met with a group of pirates that
was about to attack us. We were preparing to engage when the same man suddenly appeared
and single-handedly eliminated all of them. We thanked him for appearing for our aide; but he
suddenly pointed at me his sword and asked for my name. Roger and Li was ready to engage
but I told them to stand down. I stated to him my name but he withdrew his blade and laughed.
“I see that you formed your own crew now.” He said.
“Do I know you?.” I replied.
“I am Edward Low, I helped you when you fell; and you used to work for that scoundrel Francis
Drake.”
I was then forced to remember those horrible times when I was still working for Francis; an it
was horrible, but I remembered the time before I decided on becoming a pirate. He then asked
us what was our purpose of setting foot on this island, we told him about us gathering food
here instead of purchasing on islands.
“You have certainly made a name for yourself kid.” He said.
We parted our ways; but before we did he told us to immediately leave the island as there is
going to be war waging and its happening right here on this area. We told him that vessels of
pirates are already coming in this island. His expression suddenly changed into a serious one
and told us to quickly hide in a place far from this area. As we were about to head off a Pirate
Captain of a strong crew suddenly appeared and tried to attack Li but she manages to avoid his
blade and threw a kick that knocked far back. Edward was surprised and commended me for
picking the right crew members. We then eliminated his crew with the help of Edward. We then
remembered leaving Maria along with Marco in the ship and decided to try and head back.
Surprised to see both of them running towards us and reporting to us about our ship being
looted. I paid no mind to whatever was happening to the ship but relieved to see them both
safe. Edward told us to come along with him to his crew mates. After making it to their site we
requested for his crew to protect the two children and in return, we fight alongside him, he
agreed and we left Maria and Marco to his crew. We later on heard screams and decided to
head out. We each were assigned our own groups to fight the Three remaining Pirate factions.
Our groups then headed straight for the possible areas of our counterparts and as soon as I saw
the group that we were about to face, I noticed familiar faces. I then remembered that it was
part of that bastard Francis pirate crew; then I saw Francis himself on the line. Rage was
starting to fill me and as soon as my group and the enemies met our eyes, we immediately
clashed with our swords. I went straight for Francis and deliberately attacked him. He was then
surprised and chuckled after seeing me alive.
“I am surprised that you’re alive, Its been a while Every.” He said
I didn’t reply to anything he said and just continued to attack him. One of his crew attacked me
and I was forced to back up.
“I see that your are still that weak captain that only relies on his crew.”
“You brat.”
He then ordered him to get rid of me but one of Edward’s crew managed to save me from the
attack. I quickly stood up and went behind to strike Francis but he was able to avoid it. He
noticed that his crew was losing to our group and retreated. Anger and sorrow built up and I
attempted to chase Francis; however one of Edward’s crew stopped me and told me that it is
never worth it chasing after someone. I took his advice and we headed back.
The night has risen and we were eating our food in front of the fire. I was spacing out for the
entire night and Li asked me what happened during our fight with another pirate crew. I
explained to them who I encountered and told them who he is, I also decided to ask Edward to
train me and become strong enough to face any enemy that stands in my way of finding that
treasure; and become strong enough to kill Francis.
As soon as we were about to finish our food, Nico stood up and asked us to come with him to
Edward. He then told asked him:
“Excuse me sir, You are The Conqueror right?.”
“The conqueror?” I asked.
Edward then chuckled and replied.
“Such a sharp crew member you have there, kid.”
I asked Nico what “The conqueror” is and Nico explained. Apparently the title “The Conqueror”
is given to those pirates whom eliminated the most of other pirates and for those who has
killed the strongest Pirate Group in the world. I now knew why Roger was intimidated by our
encounter with him. This person was strong enough to easily eliminate any pirate who stands in
his way. I mustered up the courage and asked him to train us.
“What is your purpose?, Why do you want me to train you?” He said.
“To easily eliminate anyone who stands in my crews way.” I replied
“Such a weak resolve, and a selfish one too. Do you want to train for your crews sake? Or for
yourself?”
I went into silence and looked down as I realized that anger has driven me to this conclusion.
He later on said.
“I can see in your eyes that rage has built up; but very well.”
He made me realize that building anger towards someone and planning to take vengeance on
them is never worth it. What is left after the successful revenge is emptiness and sorrow. He
later on asked a promise to use the strength we are about to obtain and use it not for our own
benefits but to use it to protect each other. I made the promise and apologized to my crew for
suddenly asking Edward to train us. They agreed and we thanked him for agreeing. We soon
headed back and to our ship and woke up the next morning ready for our training.

Chapter 7- (Time Skip)

More than three years has passed training with The Conqueror Edward, most of us were
trained well by different people on Edwards crew. They were kind and patient enough to help
us get better at combat as well as swordsmanship. It was time for us to bid farewell to Edward
and his crew and thanking them for all the efforts and hard work they put into building us into a
much more powerful pirate crew. Before we left, Edward offered the sword he uses to Roger as
he was still using the old worn out and chipped blade throughout the training. After accepting
the gift, we said our goodbyes and parted ways, we returned to our original route of our
journey and this time, we can easily face whoever is in our way, without fear or hesitation.
In a sudden surprise, a pirate ship has appeared looking for loot and as well as having the
intention pf taking our lives. I deployed both Roger and Li to fend them off.
“I’ve been wanting to test my new blade.” Roger said.
“Try not to brake it on your first try, Roger.” Li replied.
Both of them alone, they were able to wipe out an entire pirate ship without losing much
energy. I could certainly see that we have grown far from our original states; and realizing that
made me happy that I chose to be a pirate instead of continuing to serve on Francis Drakes
pirate crew. After a minute, Li and Roger arrived with loot and items we might find convenient.
We continued our way hoping to find an island to rest; but instead we were met with a
horrifying sight of abandoned ships. We boarded one of the ships as there might be someone
that lives in these ships. A storm was suddenly picking up and we had no other choice but to
shelter on these ships hoping that the storm might eventually go away. As we went inside one
of the large vessels we decided to check the inside of the ship.
“How strange, why is there suddenly a storm in these areas.” Nico said.
“We might have entered an area that storms are common.” Li replied.
As we search the interior of the ship, we found an old box that of which had a lock in it. We
decided to simply cut the lock and so we did. The inside of the box was a map and some
sketches of the area. We also found a torn paper that might have the clue of the name of the
island that these ships came from. A man suddenly appeared from the darkness and asked the
purpose of our visit in these ships.
“We encountered these areas and decided to explore these ships.” I said.
The man suddenly told us about the information of the map as well as the history of these ships
wreckage. Apparently these vessels holds an entire village; although there were only a few left
that is floating, there were more than Thirty ships voyaging hoping to find an island to reside in.
An unknown storm suddenly appeared and it started to pick up. Minute by minute one ship is
sunken by the merciless tide until all that remains is these Five remaining ships. There we still
remaining survivors but recourses were starting to run out. Due to the lack of food and
medicine, many people that survived the storm died of hunger and illnesses. Cannibalism
started to occur and people are murdering each other and feast on each others flesh which
slowly reduced their numbers. After one Year of trying to cling into survival, eventually the only
survivor left is him.
This map was supposed the route of an island they managed to find; but due to the storm, they
never made it. These ships has been floating here for more than Fifty Years and has never been
found, until now. The man then asked us to leave this place as the storm might get worse. We
asked him if he could come along with us to the next island; but he refused and chose to stay in
these ruins as he has something far more important to watch over here.
We boarded our ship and took our leave.
“I wonder what kind of thing that man was protecting.” Li said.
“Perhaps a treasure that her parents has left for him?.” Maria said.
We continued along with our path to a new island hoping it would be a great one.
Three days of search we eventually made it to a an island named Wisty Island. It seemed
prosperous. They greeted us with hospitality and asked of the purpose of our visit, we told
them our purpose; however we kept our identity hidden as we might cause a panic. We
purchased as much as we need for our next travels. Sun has begun to set and a storm suddenly
picked up as we were about to leave, the villagers insisted we stay for the night.
We took a small cabin that was owned by an elderly woman to rest and she treated us kindly.
Me and Roger stayed in the open area of the cabin where the owners desk was placed. We
asked her about the storms and if it often comes, she said yes and told us about the legend of
it. Apparently these storms are a curse by those who died in a catastrophe Fifty Years ago. We
later on asked of the large vessels that were destroyed Fifty Years ago. She was shocked to hear
us mentioning about these ships. She took a deep breath and told us about the history of the
ships; but this time her ending was quite different. We told her about the man that lives in
these ships and she asked the name of the man. We told her that we did not get his name and
immediately asked us to leave the area as we might endanger ourselves.
“Absalom...Brother…is that you?.” The elderly lady whispered.
She told us her perspective of the casualty. The storm was still raging and there were only few
little ships remain. Her brother begged for to the others to let her ride the small ship and leave
without him. As they were getting far away, the ship of her brother sunk. She watched as how
the only family she had left getting taken by the storm. She broke down and cried for months
until she finally accepted the loss of her brother. We told her the location of the ruined ships
and asked her if she was willing to go there, she agreed and thanked us.
The next morning we set out and back to the ruins, it took us Three Days of sailing and
eventually made it. We took her to the same ship that we found the man.
“Why have you returned?.” The man said.
“Absalom.. it is me.” The elderly lady replied.
“Sister?... I thought I will never see you again.” Her brother continued.
They cried of joy having to get reunited for more than Fifty Years. They caught up of the events
after the casualty. We then asked if the Man was willing to go to Wisty Island where his sister
currently lives; but he hesitated and eventually agreed. As we arrive few elderly people who
were waiting for our arrival. It turns out, they were also survivors and has recognized the
elderly woman’s brother.
We set off without their consent and took our original route of our travels.
“Perhaps not every island we encounter, treats us badly.” I said.
“Who knows captain, they might have not known about you.” Roger replied.
We eventually lost sight of the island. We decided to celebrate our small accomplishment, for
helping the elderly; and for becoming a strong crew.

Chapter 8 –

We managed to find an island of Three days of sailing. The island had a weird mountain with a
peculiar shape. We made our way on the side of the island as it might have a village or a city in
it. After docking in the area that’s filled with trees, we made our way to the center of the island
and we were surprised to see a city. I decided that Me, Roger and Li should split up as we do
not want to look suspicious. I decided to head for a cloths store to purchase clothing and
replace what I am currently wearing. After purchasing what I needed I exited the store and
heard a loud voice of a man and he seemed to be announcing something. Many citizens have
gathered into a place near the loud shouting and I decided to head in for myself due to
curiosity. They stated something.
“We the Belabog Pirates have found a map of the treasure that is rumored to fulfill anyones
desires, El Gato.”
Chills ran down my spine as the treasure that the man stated is the same treasure that I always
wanted to obtain. Roger appeared behind me and said.
“Captain, shall we?.”
“Yeah, lets get that map.” I replied.
We made our way to the ship of the pirates and stole the map without them noticing. We
rushed to our ship and immediately set sail. Joy filled laughter as I finally managed to obtain the
direction to the treasure that I always wanted to obtain since the beginning of my pirate
adventure. Li and the other were overjoyed as well. Nico then asked where the location of this
treasure is and he will make a route for us to safely head to the island. I showed him the map
and from a smile to a sudden fear.
“That’s.. not just an island, but a grave.”
Apparently the island is covered in red mist where unknown dangers lurk and kills whoever sets
foot on the island. The place is called “Pulang Kamatayan” or Red Death in foreign language.
Indeed the treasure we are searching for is there; however it is being guarded by unknown
beings who can easily see in the thick red mist. If we really want to proceed, we need to keep
our guard up as much as we can. It seemed simple enough to manage but Nico later on said
that their numbers are endless. With that kind of information, I started to doubt whether we
will survive or not; but Li encouraged us and believed on our strengths. So I decided to trust on
what Li said and proceeded to head to the island.
After making it to the island within only Five Days of travel. We each had a bell tied to our
clothes so that we can easily navigate each other. As soon as we set foot, instantly the mist
started to thicken up. I asked Maria as well as Marco to stay behind but they insisted on going;
and with the determination they had, I had no other choice but to bring them. I strapped each
of them bells and proceeded to enter the mist. As we are walking in the middle of the mist, we
started to pick up movements as presence around us, we quickly joined together and
something suddenly jumped on me but luckily Nico was able to kick it away from me. I was not
able to determine what kind of entity it was but it was light, but really agile. A sudden blow of a
strong wind blew the mist and revealed creatures that did not look human at all, we were
surrounded by them and we were forced to attack. They eventually retreated to the deep parts
of the forest and never returned.
We came to notice how the mist was not forming up due to the strong wind current that
appeared. We decided to follow the path of the wind current hoping to find the cause of that
unnatural blow. Along the way, we encountered multiple different variations of the creatures,
some were strong but dull movements, and some were agile but deal very weak blows. We also
encountered bumps on the ground which seemed strange. We dug up one of the bumps and
found a decomposing body being feasted by numerous of different insects. We covered it up
and we were left with chills by our discovery. After a while, a scream of a man was heard, I got
closer to it and found a man being mangled by the creatures. The man seemed to have stopped
moving and the creatures continued to mangle the man. I stepped on a cloth and decided to
pick it up and found the pirate crest of Francis Pirate group. Excitement and rage filled me as I
knew that Francis was near. I went back to the group and told them about my findings and
possibly that Francis is also into the treasure, they then asked me if I was sure that we should
encounter Francis’s crew. I told them that I moved on from the past. They trusted me of my
feelings and we proceeded to head straight to the area where the treasure night be hidden.
We eventually found Francis and his crew with a gigantic fan that broke. We waited for them to
find the treasure so that it would be easier for us to take it from them. They started digging a
deep hole to try and find the treasure and found it a few hours late; and with that, it was time
to engage. I ordered Marco and Maria to stay put and wait for us.
We then came out of our hiding place and started to attack Francis’s crew from behind and
eliminated the vulnerable ones. The ones which are easy to handle started to retreat and Four
of Francis’s crew started to appear, each of them are well equipped. Each of us faced one of
them and I took on the one who is near Francis.
“You would have to defeat them if you want to get closer to me Every!.” Then laughs
historically.
These guys are dealing very heavy blows, they were also agile; and the others were also
struggling. Francis and some of his crew members dug as fast as they can and eventually found
the treasure filled with gold and gems.
Francis later on ran along with his crew, it pissed me off how big of an annoyance these guys
are.
I backed away and tried to confront Francis but those members were agile and I was unable to
get close to him. He attempted to strike me with his blade but I countered it and went around
him to slash him. Minute by minute these guys movements become faster and faster. I tried to
keep up by forcing my body to move faster. Eventually our swords broke of the heavy blows we
deal to each other and we are forced to use our fist. Yet again his movements becomes faster
that no human could keep up. He had no openings which made my fight difficult to handle.
Every strike I deal seemed to slowly wore him out.
All the strike he deals are heavy and our bodies were covered with bruises and broken bones. I
was starting to loose my breath but I forced my body to keep moving in order to survive. I saw
my sword and planed to pick it up and use to my advantage. I made him lure me to my sword. I
picked it up and took a strike on his ankles which made him lose his balance, I then delivered a
slash on his neck which separated his head from his body.
With both legs starting to wear out, I tried catching up to Francis. I caught up to him since the
box was too heavy to carry. I eliminated the ones whom are helping him and stabbed Francis.
One of the goons got up and stabbed me right in the stomach, I slashed him which took his life.
“Every…. Y-you B-bastard…..”
With the remaining strength left with my body. I smiled….

Chapter 9 – A proper end.

Marco POV

Screams of agony, and anguish filled the island. We were forced to hide and wait for news but it
doesn’t seem to come. Almost an hour of hiding hoping that one of our crew screams our
names and telling us that we finally got the treasure; but it didn’t seem to come. The screams
later on calmed and the sounds of clashing blades eventually calmed down. Me and Maria
decided to try and follow them as soon as the area has no such noise. As soon as we arrived at
the site, we were met with a horrifying pile of bodies and saw Three of our crew members
including our Big brother lying flat on the ground. We ran as fast as we could to our brothers
direction only to find him no longer breathing and has a stab wound in his left. Me and my
sister broke down in tears; but suddenly Big Sister Li called our names while in pain. She was
suddenly relieved to see us alive but we are worried of her being in pain.
“…the c-captain?.” She said.
“We do not know.” I replied.
We later on carried Big Sister Li back to the ship and treated her and I went back to the site to
get My brother and everyone else and hoping that at least one of them is still breathing. I found
Big Brother Nico’s body and placed him next to my brother; and then we found the captain’s
body seemingly kneeling and holding a blade that stabbed the scoundrel pirate Francis. While
my sister was on board our ship treating Big Sister Li’s injuries, I carried the bodies of our
unalive crew members and Captain back to the ship and set sail.
We later on found and island and gave them a proper burial on a cliff. As the three of us mourn
for the loss of our crew members and Captain, we accepted it and moved on.
Big sister Li managed to recover within only a week; but not fully, she is still struggling to walk
due to the severe injury on her right leg from all that fighting. With no other place to go, Big
sister Li told us we should head back to Hou Yi with her. She decided to live in peace instead of
venturing further. She told us that she will be the one to raise us and give us proper education
of our choice. We hesitated at first but she insisted that we should.
Three months of travels and finally made it to Hou Yi. Remembering our times here as we
waited for the return of Captain and also Saving this nation from a possible loss of a ruler. It
gave me a nostalgic feeling. My sister on the other hand. Sobbed as she remembered the times
here too; although we never did anything important. I still remembered the joyous feeling of
them returning with Big sister Li being free.
As soon as we got to the palace entrance, the guards who are at the entrance were surprised to
see the daughter of the Emperor returning to the nation. The emperor and her sister later on
greeted us at the entrance and asked where are the others.
“We…were unable to help our captain along the way.” Big sister Li replied.
Her sister later on asked who we were.
“Oh, they are the siblings of Roger, the swordsman of our crew. He also didn’t make it.” Big
sister Li replied.
We introduced ourselves and Her sister and The emperor greeted us kindly. Big sister Li told
them that she will be the one who will raise us and educate us and The emperor accepted it.
We later on were escorted to our rooms and rested.
The next day I went back to the ship and took our remaining items. We were later on given the
opportunity to decide which kind of skill we want to learn, Maria chose to acquire medicinal
skills, while I chose to become an archeologist while also training with Big sister Yan. Training
and studying for countless hours hoping to eventually drift my mind away from the events that
lead to the Captain and my Big brother’s death. I am questioning myself why I keep reminiscing
the past, the horrors. Although I’ve accepted my brother’s passing, I still cannot forget the sight
of all the bodies that pilled up. Studying was the only option to cope with all of that.

Five Years Later-

“Its has been awhile, brother. How have you been?, Are doing fine along with Captain and Big
Brother Nico?.”
Five years have passed, and I decided to visit the grave of our late brother. Maria was not able
to come along due to being busy with patients. Becoming an archeologist perhaps gave me a
reason to live as I always gain more knowledge about the world. I later on found out that Big
brother Nico was one of the founders of the largest rebellion group of the entire world;
although he kept it hidden. His last mission was to infiltrate one of the pirates that was hunting
down “The conqueror” Edward Low, to obtain a relic that of which he lost during the time he
decided to join our crew Eight Years ago. He decided to become an archeologist and quit
becoming one of the leaders of the rebellion. Although he died, he still left a great legacy to his
little brother who is currently 19 Years of age.
“I wonder why you kept it hidden.”
After reminiscing of the past for a while, I left the sword that my brother received during the
end of our training from The Conqueror.
I left with nothing but emptiness of a feeling at the same time memories of the past. Having
experience all of those left me a great scar as it ended. Thinking about it makes me think “What
if, it never ended?”. Well, everything has its end, that Includes human lives. Perhaps we were
not fated to become pirates; and fate simply did it duty. I then head down and back to the boat
and back to Hou Yi.

Five Years Later –

After five years, the Emperor suffered from a disease and was forced to step down and hand
over the position as Empress to Big sister Li.
After the ceremony, I approached Big sister Li and congratulated her, she responded with.
“It is my duty as the daughter to be next in line, and it appears that time has already caught
up.”
After making a conversation with the New Ruler of Hou Yi, I started to think of what the Future
of this nation would be with Big sister Li being the new ruler. I stopped by my sister’s clinic and
told her of the news. She said that the doctors were the one who recommended for the
emperor to step down. The disease that the emperor was suffering is inside his lungs, his right
lung was starting to deteriorate and is in need of medical attention. Maria wanted to visit our
brothers grave as she always wanted to visit ever since. I told her it might be impossible as it
takes Three Months just to get there but she insisted on going as she wants to see our brothers
grave again. We quickly prepared the next day and asked for a ship to travel on.
Three months travels, we eventually made it to the island where the grave of our brother lies.
As we stood in front of the graves, my sister began to sob and just like she used to when she
gets hurt. I left her alone with her feelings as interfering might not be an option. I let her cry her
sadness out until she was able to stop. We then left and decided to do detours on a few islands
for supplies for the following months of travels.
I have come to realize that everything has its end; however the memories that were formed will
continue to shine like gold in our hearts. It will continue to cling into us so whenever we feel
down, we would always have something to remember and smile to it.

Chapter 10 –

Maria’s POV
I remember having the vague recollection of my brother training in the fields, seeing him so
eager to become strong, makes me happy. I simply enjoyed watching him come up with moves
in order to find his own style. We even went to fencing lessons, but it seems he doesn’t quiet
like it. Now, having to witness him and his final moments, hurts as how I remember all of those
memories. Seeing as how my brother collapse broke me. As soon as the fighting stopped, we
immediately rushed to my brother only to see him not breathing again. If only I was there to
help him beat his foe; but I can’t, we were never trained due to having frail bodies. We simply
stared and hid as our crew mates slowly losing their lives. Then Big sister Li suddenly called our
names, it gave me a little hope that maybe some are still alive, but no. Marco found Big brother
Nico and Captain Henry both cold and unalive.
Seeing as how Marco carries the cold unalive bodies of our crew mates feels like we were never
meant to become pirates; and fate simply did its job. We took our leave and onto a nearby
island to burry our crewmates and Captain’s bodies. As we mourn for our loss, we head back to
our ship to leave. I took care of Big sister Li’s injuries with the knowledge I gained during their
training.
After weeks, Big sister Li later on partially recovered but was still unable to walk. She
immediately told us that we should head back to Hou Yi and she will be the one who would
take care of us from here on out. We took her advice and set sail back to Hou Yi. Three months
of traveling has to be done in order to reach our destination. For those three months I have
been constantly crying, unable to eat properly, Big sister Li and Roger had to comfort me to be
able to stop me from further crying. Blankly staring in the sky for days thinking of nothing but
my brother’s death and the loss of our Captain. Unable to sleep probably due to the horrific
sight of bodies.
Continuously repeating the cycle. After Three months, we were able to arrive at Hou Yi with
nothing but an empty feeling inside me. We were then given the opportunity to receive
education and the emperor will be the one to hire private tutors. I chose medicine as I was
constantly thinking of improvement of my skills. As I lack the strength to fight, I might find a
purpose on medical practices.

Five Years later-

Studying countlessly has slowly drifted my mind away from those events. After years of being
an apprentice of a hired doctor, I managed to become one myself, slowly healing from the pain.
I have constantly thinking of wanting to visit the grave of our late brother but it seems like I do
not have the time for it; although it has been years since, I still think that visiting might get me
emotional, so I constantly focus on my work and hone my skills to become someone much
better than my past self. The feeling when you have something to do feels like having self
worth.
I was later on called by Big sister Yan to check up on the Emperor, she said that he has been
having dry coughs and some other times he spits blood. I agreed to come within, but before
that I checked up on a book that I have read to confirm my speculation of the disease. I later on
came with Big sister Yan to the palace and their father started to cough hard and blood was
begging to come out. I immediately rushed and made him take the medicine that temporarily
stops his coughing.
I later on consulted them of the disease called “pneumonia” in which the lungs are suffering
from an infection and will eventually deteriorate.
With the news they received, they started to worry of their fathers health and hired Three
highly skilled doctors and they also included me for the treatments so that I would gain
experience as an assistant rather than doing a hands on treatments. I started to pack for my
things in order to head to the Palace and get into my own room. Big sister Li came to get me
and asked how I was these past few years. I replied.
“It has been a great time, and I have learn many things.”
“I see.”
I thanked her for taking us in and raising us until we were able to stand in our own two feet.
She smiled and said that it was not really a big deal. She asked me where Marco is and I told her
that he is traveling as an archeologist now. I can see in her eyes that she was proud of our
accomplishments. We later on arrived at the palace and I was presented to my room, I
unloaded my things an went outside. The emperor greeted me and I thanked him for taking me
and giving me the opportunity to learn more about the disease, he then chuckled and said.
“It is no big deal, this is your chance to grow more as a doctor, child.”
I smiled and bowed, he smiled back and left. Later on we started to treat the Emperor. We used
different kinds of herbs and medicine and mixed them hoping to get a good result and form a
cure to this disease. After carefully processing the medicine, we only managed to make a
maintenance instead of a cure; although this time it is much more effective on maintaining the
proper condition of the emperor and prevent him from coughing. After months of treatment,
we made no progress of a cure and decided to only use the maintenance from now on. The
Emperor thanked us for our hard work but we were disappointed that we were not able to
discover a solution to the disease.

Five years later-

The emperor was forced to step down and Big sister Li was now the empress of Hou Yi Empire, I
was not able to congratulate her due to being busy with the remaining patients. I was later on
surprised by my brother who had come back from his archeological work and decided to pay a
visit in my clinic. He told me many of his adventures and how he was able to discover the
identity of late Big brother Nico. I was surprised when he said he was one of the founders of a
huge rebellion in the world. I asked him.
“Why would he keep it a secret?.”
“He wanted to quit as being one of the leaders and turned to archeology instead, that’s why he
hid it.”
Having to mention Big brother Nico made me remember about the adventures we had from
Ten Years ago, it gave me a nostalgic feeling. I decided to ask Marco to come along with me and
pay a visit to the graves. He hesitated and said it will took about Three months of travels but I
forced him since I was never able to visit them for quite a while now. We decided to set up and
requested for a boat for us to travel on.
After Three months we were able to reach the island and into the tomb of our late Brother and
Captain as well as our Navigator. We our moments and reminisce about the past. After deep
thoughts and recollections, My eyes began to roll tears, I accepted the feeling of sadness and
cried as much as I can until I was able to cry out every pain that I experience throughout the
years. I quietly accepted that everything has its end points.
With every feeling of sadness out. I stood up and bid farewell to the tombs and left with an
empty feeling.
I will forever cherish the times we had when they were still alive, and forever remember that
they will always be watching above as I continue life.
“isn’t this what you wanted, brother?, For us to live.”
Chapter 11 –

Li POV
Ever since I was made Empress, the empire seemed the same. Doing the same thing, going on
state visits, war topics, as well as possible expansion of docks since more and more people are
starting to move to this country and new imports of trades by boats. I thought being the ruler
of a country means doing nothing but sitting and watching over a growing army. I never
thought that it would be this stressful.

As I constantly think of the tasks I had to do, a sudden memory came into my mind. The man in
a mask and a robe from 13 Years ago. The unknown man till this day we never knew his real
identity. Worries was building up within me and I decided to increase the guards for possible
infiltrations and attacks. I kept this decree up until I knew its safe.

A few month later I brought down the decree and thought that it would be safe. I hired
investigation teams and ordered them to find possible clues and people that might match the
appearance of the man from within the nation. Days upon days of search and there seems to
have no match. I decided to let go of the search as the man must have different objectives after
that event of the past or perhaps he is no longer alive. I decided to head to rest in my room to
relieve all of the stress for the past few days but then I saw him, at the corner of my eye, the
same man wearing the same clothing as 13 Years ago. I was confused on how he was able to
enter my room without being detected as the outside of my room was filled with guards. He
then spoke.

“It has been awhile, princess.” And smiles.

“How are you able to enter my room?.” I replied.

He kept silent and proceeded to tell me the purpose of his return. He said that he wants to kill
the emperor but it seemed like he was already dying, so he decided to finish him so that “He
will no longer suffer”. With careful thought, I took my stance ready to engage if got closer. As
he slowly gets closer he then told me more of what he has done of the past.
“Let me tell you a little secret, mind if you lend me your ears?.”

I agreed to listen to him to stall him and wait for the guards to enter my room. He then spoke
more nonsense, until he got to one point of his story which left me heartbroken.

“Your captain died right?, what a pity indeed. I liked him, and because I liked him, I took his life
without lifting a single finger.” He then chuckled.

“What do you mean?, Henry died from exhaustion.” I replied.

“Well he might have died from exerting too much, I still killed him, by using Francis as a pawn.”
He then laughs

I was surprised by the statement he said, but I took hold of my emotions and made him
continue.

“I thought he was smart, it turns out he was just another fool. Taking the bait of a “Treasure
that fulfills any mans desire?”, what a delusional idiot.” He then laughed.

Anger built up within and wasn’t able to control my emotions, I dashed towards his direction
aiming a kick to his torso. As I constantly try to attack him, he keeps dodging them. Tears
dropped down my cheeks as I say.

“He died chasing his dreams, he simply Envisioned giving us a good life an-“

“Accept the fact that he was merely a fool who took the role of a pirate captain and lead his
crew to their deaths just to chase his own selfish and delusional of a dream!. Face it, if he really
cared for the future of his crew, he should have known that going to that island was a mistake.
He died a pitiful and pathetic death.” He continued.
My attacks went to a pause and broke down, not knowing what to say, I continued to cry as I
was unable to accept his words and unable to control my emotions. He got closer to me and
whispered in my ear.

“You know why I did those?. Because it is…fun.”

I snapped as he stated that all of those deeds was simply an amusement for his take. I stood up
and started to blindly attack him and he went into the window to escape. I fell to my knees
remembering the horrible death of our Captain. I screamed out of anger and as I continue to
cry, my sister barged in my room and hurried towards me asking what had happened. I was not
able to answer her as my emotions kept flooding and I was unable to stop crying.

Later on as I calmed down and detailed my explanation to my sister which made her angry. She
then shouted and ordered the guards and protect our father. We then contacted Maria and
Marco who was in town for the meantime. We told them about my encounter and told them
what he had said to me which both angered them.

“So we were playing in his hands all those times, huh.” Marco said.

“Correct.” I replied.

After we continue to discuss the incident, we immediately headed to the room of our father to
see how his health is going. As we arrive the guards were already taken out. We immediately
entered the room to find the man already stabbed father at the right side and dropped him.
Without hesitation he immediately attacked us. He attempted to strike us with his blade but
failed; although he was able to cut down two of the guards that were with us. He immediately
went for me and luckily Yan was able to stop him. Marco kicked him and he flew back. His body
seems to be weak but he still forced himself to fight. He stood up and tried to escape, Yan and
Marco followed but as soon as he got close, he jumped and used one of the frames to launch
himself towards my direction, he aimed his blade. I was ready to counter him but my father
appeared behind me as if he wanted to receive the blade. Before I knew it, the man was already
close. As my father receives the blade he smiled. He fell down to his knees and threw up blood.
The blade pierced through his lungs.
Without anything left to say. I kneeled and tears rolled down my eyes. Although he was never
their to properly raise us, he still provided us shelter and did not abandon us.
The man then stood before us, his body was slowing down. Yan suddenly stabbed the man from
the back and Marco followed. He smiled and chuckled as he fell down. He said his final words.
“Mán hǎowán de”
(T: That was fun)
Yan decapitated the mans head and revealed to be one of the council members that my father
used to do peace talks with. Father turned down his request as it might endanger the peace
between countries, and with utter madness, he decided to do all of these to take revenge of
turning down his request.
My fathers face continued to smile as he slowly dies. Yan started to sob but she manages to
control her emotions and kneels saying.
“Thank you for your service, father.”

Chapter 12-

We later on head outside as Marco carries the unalive body of my father and laid him down.
Maria removed the blade that was imbedded to his chest and apologized for our loss. A group
of guards then gathered to pick up the dead remains of the man.
The next day, a burial ceremony was held and we later on buried my father next to our
ancestors tombs. As people slowly leave, I stayed for a few minutes and left.
Knowing that I am on my own now without my fathers guidance on becoming a good ruler, I
constantly think of things that has to be done. Always stressing myself with different tasks, and
unable to sleep with constant thinking of the next thing to do. Lucky My sister was there to
comfort me, always accompanied me whenever she felt like I was down. I was tired but I
constantly think of the consequences of a nation without a proper ruler. So I manage my time,
become the greatest ruler in my fathers stead.

5 years later –
As I look upon a growing nation, I think of my father and think if might have done the same. As
time slowly flows, everything on this nation grows as well, the same as people. I kept
wondering if I was able to make my father proud. I decided to visit his grave and offer flowers
and requested for some cleaners to wash the graves. I then made a decision of visiting the
tombs of my old crew mates.
After a while of finishing the work that I had left. I then took the necessary things I need as well
as a way to clean their tombs as they might have been dirty through all those years of not being
visited by anyone. I took a large boat and headed to the direction of the island that I vaguely
remembered. As I set off I remembered it was Three months of travels just to get to the graves.
So I decided to ask Yan to fill in my position temporarily until I return. As Yan is the only person
that I could rely on and she is a much better ruler than I could be.
We then set off and that took surprisingly One and a Half months to get there and I
remembered that I accepted a request of improvement on the vessels for better travels. As I
got off the boat and climbed the hill to the cliff. A beautiful lady along with Two children prayed
on the cleaned tombs. I slowly walked up to them and she was surprised to see me. I asked her
how she found out about this place and asked her about the relation between her and them.
She replied.
“Because they saved my father years ago.”
“Theresa?.” I replied.
She was suddenly stunned as how I knew her name, I recalled to her that I used to be part of
the crew that they are in and helped her save her father. She suddenly remembered and was
happy that I was still alive. We then discussed about life and our current responsibilities, she
then asked where Maria and Marco and told them they already walked their individual paths in
life. She then sighed and invited me to their home down hill. I accepted it and as we go down I
was surprised that there was a town which seemed to be thriving. Docks and industries filled
with houses and ships on port. I asked her who founded this place. She replied with.
“My father, after a few years of events, the world government became aware of the rich using
people from the outer borders as offerings for demon worships. The people took a stand and
asked the world government to set us free from those horrible things. The government then
agreed and provided huge vessels to travel far from Los Picados. Then fate has brought us to
this island and I also later on found their graves as I was strolling.”
He father apparently passed away after the villages were built. Her father left her a great
fortune, and also a village to nurture.
I stayed in the island for about a week to explore and release my stress with managing the
nation. We later on said our goodbyes and before I left, I gave Theresa a gift of new sea vessels
that we had at home since I noticed that the boats that they used were the old ones and they
did not have enough profit to purchase them. She immediately thanked me with the kindness
and I smiled at her and bid my farewells.
I realized how time would eventually lead you to a better state, you just have to be patient with
it. You will eventually heal from the wounds of the past and you would eventually grow to
becoming a better person than you are from your past. Obstacle may appear but it is always
built to be conquered by you.
