My Investment Plan

I. My Dream House
My long-term goal is to put up a house at Guadalupe Village - Lanang Davao City, by January
2030. My target budget is P3,000,000.00.

My dream design or concept for my future house is a tropical-modern concept that is light to
people's eyes and very comfortable for my future wife and kids.

This will be located in Guadalupe Village because I love the location there, and it is where I am
most familiar and comfortable. I want to live a comfortable life in the future, and this also
means I want to come home from work in a nice, aesthetically pleasing house. Something I am
proud of. I want to work hard and save up for my dream house, for my family.

II. Savings and Budget

a.) I need to calculate the future value of my budget because I do not want to be short on my
budget when I get to the near future. The interest rate I used is 3%. Based on the future value
formula, the amount of money I should have in order to suffice my current estimated budget is
Php 3,689,621.60.

SOLUTION:
Future Value = 3,000,000 (1 + 0.03) ^ 7
Future Value = 3,689,621.60

b.) If I start saving by January next year, I will have seven years left to save for my dream house.
This means that I should save or deposit Php 527,088.8 every year from 2024 until 2030. But in
order to not make it too heavy for me, I will start saving every month.

Computation:

P3,689,621.60 / 7 years = P527,088.8 per year

P527,088.8 / 12 months = P43,924.06 per month

III. Conclusion

Therefore, I should deposit P43,924.06 per month from January 2024 until December 2030 in
order to have 3,689,621.60 in my bank account for me to invest in my dream house. I will
deposit money anytime within the month so that I will have enough time to save up for the
month’s target deposit in case I experience a tight budget or have emergency expenses.
