TASK 3.1
I’ve learned that it is important to remind ourselves why diversity and cultural awareness is so
crucial in the classroom and the benefits it can have on students now and in the long-term.
Teaching diversity exposes students to various cultural and social groups, preparing students to
become better citizens in their communities. With these culturally responsive teaching
strategies in mind, it’s important to remind ourselves why diversity and cultural awareness is so
crucial in the classroom and the benefits it can have on students now and in the long-term.

Pupils Gain Greater Empathy In the classroom, raising understanding and fostering a personal
relationship with different cultures can help kids avoid bias in the future. Because they are more
aware of the struggles that members of other racial or cultural groups may have, it enables
them to sympathize with those who are unlike them. Pupils Acquire a Better Understanding of
Humans and Lessons. Students acquire a more thorough comprehension of the subject matter
when they collaborate and learn alongside others from diverse backgrounds and cultures in the
classroom. Additionally, it teaches students how to contribute to a diverse workplace by using
their unique perspectives and strengths. Pupils Gain More Mindfulness It goes without saying
that exposing pupils to a wide variety of viewpoints, ideas, and cultural backgrounds will help
them to be more accepting of others in the future. As a result, they will be more receptive to
new concepts and capable of understanding a subject better by considering many viewpoints.

Students Feel Safer and More Confident. Learning about many cultures in school helps students
feel safer and more at ease with these differences in the future. As a result, they are able to
engage with a greater variety of social groups and experience an increase in self-assurance and
interpersonal confidence. Pupils Are More Equitable for a Diverse Work Environment. The
increasing trend of globalization has made intercultural and intergroup collaboration
increasingly crucial. Students are better prepared to succeed in the workforce if they are
exposed to diversity and acquire cultural understanding in the classroom.
