Dear Content Director,

I have conducted a usability test on how to create a Spotify Playlist in the app. Responses were
all positive and everything went well. The three subjects thought the instructions were organized,
specific, well-detailed, and very captivating. However, they had a few ideas to make the
instructions a bit more understanding, they are the following:

 Make a note on the top for people to be aware of pictures according to each step
 Make notes bolded and green to see difference
 Add a note on step 4 where if you are in the library click the three buttons next to the
song
When the changes are updated and approved, I will perform another usability test to see if the
changes were effective.
Sincerely,
Gloribelle M. Diaz Cruz

Hi everyone, I'm writing this memo to inform you all about the updates for our Spotify playlist
instructions. I had a usability test on October 3, 2023, with three participants. The participants
were very pleased with our original instructions and thought they were very organized, specific,
detailed, and eye-captivating. At the end of the test, I asked a few questions regarding the
instructions, and they had a few ideas to make it better than it already is and to make it a bit more
understanding.

Summary
The three participants had positive views towards the instructions but still had a few changes that
could make it better. First, they would like to see like a “be aware”/note that there are pictures at
the end of the steps. Even though participants said that they could do the steps without any
pictures, some users who have never had Spotify could find it useful to have images rather than
just typed instructions. We also found that the notes should be green so it could bring more
attention to the reader. Participants also stated they wanted to add another note specifying in step
4 that when you look for the song in the library you can also click on the three dots to the right
next to the song. With all these recommendations we can modify the instructions for a better
understanding for participants.

Results
User Observation & Subsequent changes
Participants were positive regarding the instructions. They had a good understanding regarding
each step and said it was very organized and detailed. The colors and fonts matched perfectly
with the brand, as well as photos regarding each step were appropriate. Regarding the steps
participants had some comments and recommendations as well as some findings I thought were
important to talk about. .
Participant 1 didn’t have much to say regarding style and organization, only that he wanted to
have a note on the top specifying where the images are and to match each step. Finding 1 was
that all participants All the participants thought the color and fonts matched the instructions
perfectly and don’t have to make any changes with that. But participant 3 said she wanted the
notes to be a different color so that people can see them better. Participant 2 was struggling a bit
regarding the steps because she had never used Spotify but in the end she did perfectly. The
usability test providerFinding 2 noted thatwas that two of the participants didn’t click on the
song, so they had to click on a different button but still had to do with the right corner and was
three buttons.

Conclusion
In conclusion, the results of the usability test were all positive, and only minor changes will have
to be made to the Spotify Playlist instructions. I hope all the changes will create better support
for users to create playlists on Spotify.

Recommendations
The following changes are recommended:

 Put a warning/note on the top corner that says “Each step has a picture representation in
page two” so that people that can’t understand the instruction or if it's there first-time
using Spotify can better see what we are talking about
 Add on step 4 a sub sections were if you are looking for a song on the Librarylibrary
section there are three dots next to the song on the right were you can click on it and the
list option will appear
