Analyzing Websites Response

For us to go on to a website every day, the website itself must have appealing content, but
since there are websites they have the same purposes, they also need an appealing layout and UI
to cater to users. The website I chose to analyze that I use daily is Spotify. Spotify is a music
streaming platform that has all types of music, from 1500s classical to 2020s pop-hits. With so
much music to choose from and listen to, Spotify needs an appealing website design that is
convenient, simple, and can regulate tens of thousands of songs for one to listen to. For
navigation, the website is easy to access, as all you type into any search engine is "Spotify" and
the website is the first result. The structure of the website is very straightforward and simple, as
all the user's liked songs are put into a "Liked Songs" playlist stored on the left side of the screen
in the library, alongside any podcasts, albums, or other user-created playlists. Spotify also
recommends podcasts, Spotify-created playlists and other artists' albums based on the music you
listen to on the home screen in the top-left corner of the website. Below the home button is the
search button, where you can search for and listen to albums, songs, podcasts, and other user
created playlists by searching for them, or by following your friends and adding their playlist to
your library. Spotify's website design is effective for me because all the important information I
need to listen to my playlists is stored on the left side of the screen, which is convenient and
simple, and searching for music to add to my playlists is straightforward. One aspect that should
be improved is making it more convenient to add songs to your playlist, as right now you need to

right-click and scroll through a small window to add songs to a playlist. I prefer the mobile app's
approach more, where it's all under one button. Commenting on the website's design, it's sleek
and simple but lacks any color, which is a pro and a con. The simplicity of the design makes it
user-friendly and is nice on the eyes, however adding some color into the website, like Spotify's
iconic green, would give the website more character and charm.
