TOPIC OF WHAT I WANT TO LOOK AT


The effectiveness of video documentaries in promoting tourism industry in Tanzania.
Case study is Tanzania Safari Channel

2. THE REASON WHY I CHOSE THIS TOPIC.


i) I got the inspiration from one of my courses (Art and tourism) which I did it
during my undergraduate studies at the University of Dar es Salaam
ii) Also there is a huge debate on questioning whether there is enough research
done before introducing Tanzania Safari channel.
iii) I found its importance also because of the need of developing tourism industry
in Tanzania through visual video documentary.

3. The significance of the study


i) It will help to promote local tourism in Tanzania since many people will be
aware of the tourist attractions much easier than now
ii) It will help to improve the contents that are been produced by Tanzania Safari
channel and hence it will attract more tourist both local and international
tourists.
iii) It will help to improve the visual video documentary as the source of tourist
destination.
iv) It will help to develop art tourism sector in Tanzania like any other tourism
sector such as heritage tourism, natural tourism and others.

4. Location
This study will be centred in the following areas which are Dar -es-Salaam and
Kilimanjaro respectively. This is due to the following reason:
i) Both places have well established both tourist activities and tourist
destinations as well.
ii) The places are mainly used by most of tourists to came in Tanzania (to their
tourist destinations/sites)
