The validity of security clearance is co terminus with the validity of AOCIAOP and therefore, renewal of security clearance of the company and board of directors is required at the time of renewal of AOC/AOP. As per requirements for renewal of AOC/AOP specified in the relevant CARs, the operator is required to apply for renewal of security clearance of the company and its Board of Directors through eSAHAJ portal 180 days prior to the expiry of the AOC/AOP. and apply for renewal of AOC/AOP at least 90 days prior to expiry of permit. However, it has been observed that the operators are not complying with the timelines for submitting the application for security clearance from MHA at the time of renewal of AOC/AOP, which leads to delays in the process of renewal of security clearance. This non-compliance of the timelines have been viewed seriously by the competent authority and all the Scheduled/Scheduled Commuter/Non-Scheduled operators are advised to adhere with the timelines specified in applicable CAR, failing which action will be initiated as per the extant rules and provisions of Schedule VIB of the Aircr Rules, 1937.
