A Meta account lets you log in to your VR devices and view and manage your purchased content in
one place. You can set up a Meta account with your email address or Facebook account. If this is
your first time creating an account to use a Meta VR product, you can also set up a Meta account
with your Instagram account.

Since we launched Meta accounts in August 2022:

● You won't be required to use Facebook to log in to Meta VR products.

● If you're new to VR, you'll create a Meta account as part of the setup process.
● If you currently use a Facebook account to access your VR device or you're using a Meta
Quest 2, you'll need to set up a Meta account to continue using your device. During this
process, you can choose whether you want to use Facebook as a part of your VR experience.
● If you currently log in with an Oculus account on Meta Quest and older devices such as Rift,
you can wait until 1 January 2023 to set up your Meta account. Oculus accounts don't have
access to social features offered by Meta, such as finding followers to play games with or
connecting with people in Meta Horizon Worlds. As we update and launch new features,
some of these features won't be available to Oculus accounts.
● Note: Meta Horizon Worlds is currently available in selected countries.

If you're an existing user who updates to a Meta account, your apps, achievements and friends are
migrated over as part of the setup process.

You can have more than one Meta account, but:

● Each account requires a unique email address, Facebook account or Instagram account
that are not already part of the same Accounts Centre.
● You can only add three other Meta accounts to your Meta Quest or Meta Quest 2 device.
● Eligible apps bought on one Meta account are only available to your other accounts through
app sharing on Meta Quest and Meta Quest 2 devices.
