There is no best way to deal with pests in agriculture. Pesticides which are commonly
used may cause many problems. I think combining different management operations is the most
effective way to control pests.
Firstly, the chemicals in the pesticides may build up as residues in the environment and in
the soil which absorbs the chemicals. This reduces the quality of farm product.
Secondly, pests can gradually become resistant to pesticides. This means that newer and
stronger ones have to be developed.
Lastly, some pesticides affect non target plants and animals such as fish and bees. This
affects the ecology and environment as well. So, understanding of ecology of an area helps a lot
in pest control. Pesticides should be chosen and applied carefully so that they don’t affect the
ecological balance and environment.
Therefore, integrated pest management is a safe and more effective option to fight pest in
agriculture and livestock.

In Australia there are three levels of governments, the federal government, state
government, and local government. All of these levels of government are necessary. This is so
for number of reasons.
First, the federal government is necessary for the big things. They keep the economy in order
and look after like defense. Similarly, the state government look after the middle sized things.
For example they look after law and order, preventing things like vandalism in school. Finally,
local government looks after the small things. They look after things like collecting rubbish;
otherwise, everyone would have disease.

School Uniform
School uniform is special clothes worn by all students of a particular school. The uniform
of a school may differ from others. Why should schools use uniforms? Below are some reasons.
First of all, Notre Dame’s Department of Sociology produced a study in 1998 concerning
school uniforms. Their findings using 10th grade students showed that uniforms have no direct
effect on “substance abuse, behavioral problems or attendance.”
Secondly, uniform helps to create a strong sense school ethos and a sense of belonging to
a particular community. As such it promotes discipline and helps to drive up academic standards,
which is why a uniform is often adopted by schools which are being reopened with a fresh start
after being classified as failing.
Finally, uniform acts as a social leveler, under which all students are equal in the eyes of
the school and of each other. In institutions without uniform students are often competitive and
worry endlessly about their appearance and the clothes they should wear. Pupils without
expensive designer clothes and trainers may be singled out as social outcasts, or stigmatized as
being from poor backgrounds. For these reasons many parents prefer uniforms as they save them
money on buying clothes for school wear.
Considering the findings, schools should implement the uniform as their identity. The
government should also publish some kind of rule which makes uniform compulsory for schools.
74. What is the text about?
a. Why parents buy uniforms for their children
b. The importance of school uniform

a. does not wear a school uniform
b. wears no expensive designer clothes
c. cannot afford to buy a school uniform
d. posses a bad academic record
e. has a bad attitude at school
76. Their findings using 10th grade students showed that uniforms have no direct effect on
“substance abuse, behavioral problems or attendance (par.2). What is the antonym of
attendance?
a. Absence
b. Presence
c. Assistance
d. Abuse
e. Quarrel
Palestine
Palestine is a nation, which is held in high esteems in Islamic history and has great significance
for Muslims. Some of the major reasons for Palestine being of significance to Muslims are:
Allah has named it the Holy Land and the Blessed Land” in the Quran. It’s mentioned in Surah
Al- Ma’idah ( 5:21 ):
“O my people, enter the Holy Land which Allah has assigned to you and do not turn back (from
fighting in Allah’s cause ) for then you will be returned as losers.”
It was the home of many Prophets and great men. Palestine was the birthplace of many Prophets
including Hazrat Ibrahim, Ishaq, Dawud, Yaqub, Sulayman, Zakariya, Yahya, Isa and other
companions like Irmiya, Maryam, Samuil, Talut, Uzair and Yusha.
Palestine is home to one of the Sacred Masjid in Islam, the Masjid al-Aqsa. Masjid Al-Aqsa is
the third holiest site in Islam. It was the first Qiblat for Muslims. Many references from religious
books have been given with respect to this mosque. Palestine was the site of the miraculous night
journey of Prophet Muhammad .
In conclusion, Palestine, a country blessed by Allah the Almighty, as it is high esteem in Islamic
history, is very important for Muslims.
Seat Belt
Nowadays, the police have been applying the new regulation concerning the use of seat
belts. In European countries, this regulation has been applied for a long time. Seat belt has
benefits for everyone while driving a car. Here are some of the arguments why seat belt is
important.
The use of seat belt has been proven to reduce the risk of injury or death in an accident.
Seat belt has become a standard component in cars.
The research shows that most car accidents will cause an injury to the head. Frequently,
drivers or the passengers driving without seat belts die because of this. By wearing the seat belts,
the injury will not happen since the seat belts restrain our body on the car seat when the accident
happens.
Regarding to the arguments above, it can be seen that seat belt is very important to use
while driving in order to reduce the risk of injury or death in an accident. .
Male chauvinism (men's believe in male superiority) extends even into the area of
automobile driving, it seems. They believe that they are far better drivers than women. Men
consider women drivers incompetent, inattentive and even dangerous behind the wheel.
However, statistics prove that women are, in fact, safer drivers than men. For example,
insurance rates for women are 20 percents than they are for men. Another proof is that more
accidents are caused by male drivers between the ages of 18 and 25 than by any other groups.
Also the greater percentage of accident involving death is caused by men. Although women are
criticized for being too cautious, they are really just being safe drivers.
The reason for women driver's safer habits can perhaps be found in the differing attitudes
of sexes toward automobiles as a convenience, like a washing machine.
On the other hand, men regard the automobile as an extension of their egos. Using it as a
weapon when they feel particularly aggressive or using it as a status symbol.
In all, women are safer drivers because of their attitude. Men can learn to become safe
drivers if they adopt the attitude that an automobile is merely a convenience.
Although there is a great deal of variation within each gender, on the average, men and
women discuss a surprisingly different range of topics. According to some studies, women and
men ranging in age from seventeen to eighty described the range of topics each discussed with
friends of the same sex. Certain topics were common to both men and women; work, movies,
and television proved to be frequent topics for both groups.
The differences between men and women were more striking than the similarities.
Female friends spend much more time discussing personal and domestic subjects, relationship
problems, family, health and reproductive matters, weight, food and clothing. Men, on the other
hand, are more likely to discuss music, current events, sports and business. Women are more
likely to gossip about close friends and family. By contrast, men spend more time gossiping
about sports figures and media personalities. These differences can lead to frustration when men
and women try to converse with one another.
92. Men, on the other hand, are more likely to discuss music, current events, sports, and
business. The word sport has closest meaning to … .
a. Jogging
b. Activity
c. Exercise
d. Duty
e. Competition

to be frequent topics for both groups. (paragraph 1) The words both groups refer to … .
a. Men and women
b. Movies and television
c. Certain topics

How do you study when the test is coming? Do you start preparing for the test weeks or months
before the test or leave things to the last hour? If you start studying weeks or months before the
test, it is great. However, if you study all the material in the last hour or minute, it is not good for
you and it is called cramming. Cramming is the situation when students stay up until morning to
study before their test. This habit can lead to negative impacts for some reason.
The first reason is that disruptions in the regular sleep cycle can cause temporary intellectual
lapses. For most students, less sleep can make them could not focus in the class. Additionally,
cramming can leave us with “something that I have seen before” in our memory. However, being
able to recognize something is not the same as being able to recall it. Besides that, each person
has their different sleeping time, so some of them often use a stimulant for cramming.
Furthermore, that stimulant gives bad effect to its consumers. The example stimulant is coffee. It
causes many problems such as Caffeine Intoxication Syndrome, anxiety, panic, headaches, and
so on.
To sum up, cramming is bad because it disturbs our regular sleep cycle which cause temporary
intellectual lapses and using stimulant for cramming gives bad effect to our health.
