AIM: Modulation Techniques by Binary Phase Shift
THEORY:
Keying method.

chosenfor BPSK modulation are 500 KHz (0

of modulating signal. The
BPSK modulator is also built KHz (180 deg). carrier frequency

The phase detector works on the
principle of squaring loops. First step in BPSK

Eroniuency from the Output oT the phase splitter, but thedoes not reach the PLL. The PLL recovers the carrier
emited carrier. So a %2 circuit is used to divide the frequency ofof the recovered carrier is twice that of the
reference carrier. The D fip fiop is Used to compare the frequency phase of the
the PLL output by 2, thus recovering the
incoming data and the reference carrier
thereby recovering the data.
PROCEDURE:

1. Connect the ACsupply to the kit.

2. Make all fault switches ON.

3. Confirm that all fault switches are in ON Position

4. Connect patch cord as shown in above figure.

5. Give data using switch SW3.
6. Switch ON power.
7. Observe the following waveform on oscilloscope,

b) Output of NRZ - L Coder (TPP14)(TP2 &TP3)

TOdulated output).
CONCLUSION:
From above experiment we conclude that :
The BPSK Demodulation is dependent on the phase components of the transmitted modulated carrier.
If changing of phase with respect to input data is not proper (modulation signal isn't proper), then we are
not able to recover proper data from BPSK modulation.
