Think of some points below to discuss this Friday and write down your opinions on them.

1. Think back to your language learning experiences. What sort of feedback did your
teacher(s) give you? Positive or negative feedbacks? (Provide examples)
I have received both positive and negative feedback while at school
1) When I was in junior high school, I got good feedback from English lessons. for
example, when I did the test, I always got the highest score in the class then the
teacher said:
"You got the best score in our class, Lia" “Good job lia".
This made me more active because I felt there was encouragement from the teacher
to continue improving my skills in English.
2) When I was in elementary school, I had bad feedback from math lessons. for
example, when I took a math test, I got the worst score in the class so it made me
often take remediation and said
"Your test results are bad! Look at your friends' scores, they're all good."
"Your grades are really bad!
"How do you study?"
This makes me feel discouraged to participate in math teaching and learning
activities and in the end will make my desire to learn math to continue learning will
decrease.
2. Have you ever got negative feedback from your teachers?
Yes I have ever when I was elementary school,

3. In your opinion, why do teachers give negative feedback?

So that students get encouragement from their teachers to continue to improve their
abilities and correct their mistakes. So that students can improve their
achievements.
4. Which are more important, mistakes in structure (grammar) or mistakes that affect
communication (mispronunciation, choice of words etc.)?
I think mistakes that affect communication (mispronunciation, choice of words
etc.) because communication has a very important and strategic role in building
interactions and conveying information. It is very important and strategic role in
building interactions and conveying educational messages, in the form of learning
materials from educators to students so that learning materials can be received and
digested well. Learning material can be received and digested properly. This can
affect understanding and changes in learner behavior.

5. If your students answer a question correctly, what will you say?

"Allright, ma'am . Thank you for answer it"

6. And if the answer is wrong, what will you say?

"What's wrong?" “Sorry about that.”

7. What signs and gestures could you develop to encourage your students?
1) Giving verbal rewards to students such as "Good job", "Excellent student".
2) Giving nonverbal rewards to students for example clapping, showing thumbs or
thumbs up to learners.
3) Giving gifts of books, stationery, bags, shoes, or other useful things for their school
needs.
4) Giving rewards to students not only increases their motivation to learn, but also
increases competition in each student and creates a good relationship between
teachers and students.
