example, if you have a labor shortage you cannot satisfy customer demands).
External factor- Image of Job
The image of any organization is important when it centers on hiring staff. It plays a critical role
in recruitment. Jobs having a positive image in terms of better remuneration, promotions,
recognition, and excellent work environment with career development opportunities are
considered to be the characteristics to attract qualified candidates. If a company does not
attract new employees as such then forget recruiting.
b) Describe how an element of the organization affects recruitment and selection. (For
example, if you have a decrease of customer demand and sales, you may have to reduce
wages. This would likely make it harder to recruit employees.
If there is a decrease of customer demand and sales in Sunrise Hardware depot, then the
company’s CEO may have to reduce wages. Some employers struggle to pay wages. Economic
conditions, organizational changes and demand for business services and products affect an
employer’s ability to compensate employees at extremely competitive wages. Low wages can
have devastating effects on employees in terms of anger and disappointment, stress, low
morale and unemployment.
c) Address one of these internal factors in your organization. How does it affect recruitment
and selection? What is/are the
Production capabilities- as it is currently at the company there isn’t much modern
machinery which can assist staff to provide better record keeping and faster customer
service. Therefore, the company is at a setback which production is concerned. The ability
to promptly and in greater varieties bring new product and services into the
market is a key element of the operations management system in today’s organization,
thus, maintaining availability of production equipment and ensuring production efficiency is
essential to sustaining production capacity and fundamental factors affecting profitability.

d) Address one of these external factors in your organization. How does it affect recruitment
and selection?
Competitors − When organizations in the same industry are competing for the best qualified
resources, there is a need to analyze the competition and offer the resources packages that
are best in terms of industry standards. The greater the presence of competitors the lesser
he shares or profits for businesses.

Input= Applicants apply for the position online and take a short online personality test.
Throughput=Once they have passed the online application, they are called in to take another,
more detailed aptitude test. This is followed by an in-person interview by managers in the unit.
Output=after the applicant has been selected, they are called by a Human Resource manager
and made an official offer.

Feedback is a crucial component of systems theory. What sort of feedback do we need to gain
from the internal and external environment to ensure the success of our recruitment and
selection methods? The feedback for the internal environment would be the monthly appraisal
which measures, quality, quantity and customer satisfaction. The external environmental
feedback would be how many new hires continue with the organization after the first year,
know they will most likely always work a 10-6om shift Furthermore, how will you measure the
success of your recruitment and selection efforts? The best measurement of the recruiting and
selection efforts is how many new hires are still with the organization after a year has pass
