Background

According to the survey during the researchers’ community rotation in Zone 8, Pavia, Iloilo, it
was found that there is a significant number of residents who did not have booster shots of the
COVID-19 vaccine. There is no data on the knowledge, attitude, and practice, booster hesitancy
and refusal towards COVID-19 vaccination.

According to an evaluation conducted by the researchers during their community rotation in

Zone 8, Brgy. Aganan, Pavia, Iloilo, it was found that a significant number of residents did not
receive COVID-19 booster shots. Despite the fact that the booster shot is widely available, a
large number of individuals still have reservations about getting the booster shot. Many are left
exposed to the infection and are at risk of infecting others because of their hesitancy. There is no
data on the knowledge, attitude, and practice, booster hesitancy and refusal towards COVID-19
vaccination.

the virus, hospital stays, and fatalities. As new variants of the virus emerge and immunity wanes
over time, public health authorities worldwide have recommended booster doses to maintain and
enhance the effectiveness of vaccination programs.
