ARE YOU IN FAVOR OF MASS VACCINATION IN THE PHILIPPINES FOR COVID-

19?

Covid-19 in the Philippines is rising and alarming that leads most of the Filipinos in

frustration and aggression.  Everyone was dragged in this tragic hole and we all have to

deal with this in ways we are still figuring out.  The COVID-19 has now become the

world's most noticeably awful bad dream. It has caused a huge number of individuals'

demises, and constrained terminations and liquidation of a large portion of the

economy. The unfortunate impacts have stunned all nations influenced, and pushed

everybody to remain at home and to leave their typical way of life on a serious long

hold.

Yes, we are in favor of mass vaccination in the Philippines for COVID-19 because aside

from following the protocols, this is the only way to slow the increasing cases of Corona

Virus and The COVID-19 vaccines create protection against the disease, as a result of

evolving an immune response to the SARS-Cov-2 virus. Developing immunity through

vaccination means there is a reduced risk of developing the disease and its outcome.

This immunity helps us fight the virus if exposed.

Vaccines for COVID-19 are fundamental gadget for managing the pandemic when

joined with successful testing and existing anticipation measures. With a few promising

antibody applicants in the pipeline, some under review for approval and the

Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna and Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines approved for use by a

number of stringent national regulatory bodies, the race for a protected and viable

immunization has gone into another stage. The availability of a safe and effective
vaccine for COVID-19 is well-recognized as an additional tool to contribute to the control

of the pandemic. At the same time, the challenges and efforts needed to rapidly

develop, evaluate and produce this at scale are enormous. It is vital that we evaluate as

many vaccines as possible as we cannot predict how many will turn out to be viable.

The arguments for coercion to consume merit goods include the potential for people to

act irrationally, increasing consumption of important goods for the beneficiaries and

maximization of social welfare. Social welfare is the most critical argument for the

Covid-19 vaccines viewed as merit goods. The global loss from the Covid-19 pandemic

is huge and will grow if the world fails to control the spread of the disease. There are

both positive and negative externalities in imposing the Covid-19 vaccines. Positive

externalities include additional protection to large populations, which can reduce

infection transmission, thus reducing health workers’ burden and freeing up spaces in

hospitals for non-Covid-19 patients. It also reduces both private and public costs for

patients’ treatment and prevents productivity loss from infected people.
