CEMENT STAND: STANDARD EN 197- 1:2000.
‘The main cement type.
‘There are 5 types of cement define
by the cement standard EN 197
which are then dependent on other
constituents of a cement, besides
clinker and gypsum for regulation of
setting time.
CEM I: cement comprised clinker
and gypsum (Portland cement), and
up to 5% of addition of main
constituents. The constituents can
be blastfurnace slagsilica fume,
natural pozzolana fly ash, limestone
| or burnt shale.
CEM II: cement comprised clinker
and gypsum (Portland cement), and
Up to 35% of addition of main
constituents. The constituents can
be blastfurnace slagsilica fume,
natural pozzolana,fiy ash, limestone
cor burnt shale
CEM Ill: cement comprised clinker
‘and gypsum (Portland cement), and
up to 35% of blastfurnace slag, they
are blastfurnace slage cements.
CEM IV: cement comprised clinker
and gypsum (Portland cement), and
more than 35% of Pozzolana, they
are Pozzolanic cements
CEM V: cement comprised clinker
and gypsum (Portland cement), and
more than 31% of each of
blastfurnace slag and Pozzolana,
they are composite cements.
