DISCOVER THE PLUG & PLAY
REDUCED
HVAC SYSTEM COST
ENERGY
CONSUMPTION SAVINGS
Wheter it be the icy fjords in Norway, or the sunshine
shores of the Caribbean, having a suitable indoor
climate is a must in the world of luxury on vessels.
Heinen & Hopman introduces a line of HVAC products
especially for vessels up to 45 meters.
The products in this range can be applied to multiple SAFE & HEALTHY
ship types ranging from yachts to trawlers and INDOOR
tugboats. The philosophy is to provide ready-to-use CLIMATE
machines that only need to be connected to the on-
board power panel and chilled water pipes on board.
Brushles EC motors
This low resistance motor is highly efficient. As well as reducing energy consumption it also attenuates noise and vibration.
The system allows fans to run on variable speeds for maximum energy efficiency.
Measurable quality
Each unit is monitored in real time via our web application exclusively designed for the P&P system. Energy consumption is
considerably reduced due to the new design and technology applications, leading to further cost efficiencies.
COST SAVINGS
These eco-friendly solutions have a positive effect on the economics of sailing, but this goes hand-in-hand with cutting
cost. Reducing CO2 emissions and saving on fuel consumption are both parts of the same medal. Every gallon of diesel not
needed because the system is so energy efficient is a gallon saved in costs.
Compact design
All Plug & Play components are designed to ensure small dimensions in combination with high efficiency. The compact
design makes it suitable for even the smallest spaces and reduces the total weight of the HVAC installation, which also
contributes to minimising fuel consumption.
Alternatives available on request. Due to continuous product development, Heinen & Hopman reserves the right to introduce alterations without prior notice.
Don’t hesitate to contact us for more information about our products. We are eager to
explain the possibilities for your vessel or structure.
Filtering system
The easily cleanable and removable G4 filters take out sand, dust and pollen. The filter is fixed to the air handling unit skid
by means of cleads, facilitating ordinary maintenance operations normally carried out by the crew.
CO2-sensors
A sensor system measures the CO2 percentage, ensuring that it does not come above a pre-set threshold. All rooms and
cabins always have the right amount of fresh outside air, therefore, giving a healthy environment while reducing any
energy waste.
In addition to the benefits of lowering high indirect costs during construction and promising easy integration, user-
friendliness, the Plug & Play product range saves energy compared to a traditional HVAC system. Thanks to the highly
efficient brushless EC motors, the energy consumption is significantly reduced. Below is a situation with a 40 meter yacht.

The Plug & Play system is a product line that includes:
• Reverse cycle chiller units
• Fan coil units
• Fresh air units
• Air connection fittings
• Centralized exhaust units
• Engine room ventilation
• Control systems
NOTE: INSULATION
The air conditions are highly dependent on the quality
of the duct installation. Thermal insulation is one of
the most cost-effective improvements to comfort and
efficiency that can be made, because the best way to
beat the heat (or the cold) is to prevent it from ever
getting in. Thermal insulation also tends to muffle
audible noise.

REVERSE CYCLE CHILLERS
Each chiller module is factory tested and filled with R-410A. Multiple module skids have been developed and designed
for quick and easy module replacement. Multiple connectors and multi cables are supplied along with the unit and
control panel, making electrical and hydraulic connection on board simple and fast. The compact design and threaded
frames allow the unit to be installed directly with nuts and bolts attached to the ship’s foundation.
If multiple modules of vertical design are required, a skid plug-in is available upon request. Modules
can be assembled in one skid or supplied in separate modules to meet the most demanding space
requirements on board.
Available configurations
• One chilled water and one seawater pump
• Two chilled water and seawater pumps (one system on standby)
• One central switchboard or split with start board for remote pumps
• KNX network interface
• General alarm contact
• Remote start/stop and capacitance reduction contacts
Reverse cycle chillers come with a control panel, pump switches and an optional compressor soft start.

FAN COIL UNITS
PFC fan coil units feature the ultimate technologies available in the marine HVAC market. Super quiet EC fan blowers
allow fans to be installed in furniture without any risk of environmental noise pollution from engine noise.
Plug & Play brushless technology and latest aerodynamic design make the PFC fan coil unit the most efficient terminal
unit available on the market. Specially designed vibration dampers provide a vibration-free environment allowing
installation of the units in the most unusual and sensitive areas.
Key features
• Compact design
• Quick installation
• Super silent
• Vibration free
• High efficiency
PFC fan coil units are supplied with all water valves installed in the unit, including:
• Electrically operated three way valve
• Flow balancing valves
• Closing valves
A dedicated vent valve is connected to the top end of the water coil, allowing quick and easy cleaning of chilled / hot
water loop during system start-up or cleaning.
A built-in junction box with multiple connectors is fitted to the top case, allowing quick connection to the room
thermostat controller. A specially designed Heinen & Hopman multi cable with quick couplings is part of the power
supply for power and control connection. Cable lengths according to the requirements on board. The touchscreen
controller provides a user-friendly interface. PFC fan coil units can be fully monitored and controlled by a simple KNX
network. Each individual speed step can be set individually based on the actual system pressure drop.
Notes
• Refer to the fan coil control section of this document for the full fan coil + control package.
• The stated weights are subject to change depending on the electric heater layout chosen by the customer.
• Fully adjustable fan rotation.
• Fan with water connection on the right.
• For electric heating above 1,5 kW, an external switch must be added by the customer.
Alternatives available on request. Due to continuous product development, Heinen & Hopman reserves the right to introduce alterations without prior notice.
Don’t hesitate to contact us for more information about our products. We are eager to
explain the possibilities for your vessel or structure.

FRESH AIR UNITS
The Heinen & Hopman plug-and-play fresh air units are equipped with the most recent technologies available on the
market for marine HVAC systems. Super quiet EC fan blowers allow the Fresh Air units to be installed in carpentry
without any risk of environmental noise pollution caused by engine noise.
The Plug & Play brushless technology and latest aerodynamic design make the Fresh Air units one of the most efficient
air handling units on the market. Specially designed vibration dampers provide a vibration-free environment allowing
installation of the units in the most unusual and sensitive areas. The Advanced models are also equipped with a high-
tech heating element control system.
Fresh Air units are supplied with all water valves installed in the unit, including electrically operated three-way valve,
flow control valves and shut-off valves.
The Fresh Air units are mainly consists of the following sections:
• Filter section
Easily removable and cleanable G4 filter. The filter is cleat-mounted to the air handler skid, facilitating the normal
maintenance normally performed by the crew.
• Cooling/Heating
Copper tube coil and aluminum fin construction, suitable for chilled water as cooling medium or hot water as
heating medium. The coil is protected with a special cataphoresis coating treatment. Coil casing and drain tank
supplied in SS316L.
• Fan section
High-efficiency EC plug fan mounted on flexible connections to prevent transfer to the skid. The fan is equipped
with a special electronic board mounted directly in the electric motor. The fan speed can be adjusted during
commissioning according to the final pressure losses of the fresh air system. The fresh air supply ducts can be
connected directly to the fan section on three different sides of the unit, facilitating the construction of compact fan
rooms and avoiding the installation of an additional distribution section.
